Quiet place, favourable to those seeking rest, very nice, very good reception, always present, though not given for it, waking up to the sound of the birds, wonderful, I highly recommend.

Second honeymoon.

We were very pleased to meet Filomena, the charming hostess of the place, and her warm welcome surrounded by a good glass and homemade cakes. Beautiful character dwelling, surrounded by trees and agapantes, peaceful assurance and magical sunset! The suite we occupied is spacious and well equipped. Breakfast, in the form of a buffet, is very copious and varied, from which to start on a good foot hike... A high-quality address to recommend.

Quinta on the Ribeira Brava

A beautiful quinta, tastefully decorated with a great sea view and a charming hostess! The quiet old mansion offers all amenities without modern snacks. The breakfast is lavish and excellent! We recommend the accommodation wholeheartedly!

We had a wonderful week at Quinta Do Cabouco. 

Wonderful place to visit. The house is so nice. Lots of details, so beautiful.

Filomena welcomed us when we arrived. And from the first minute we arrived, we felt at home. Filomena showed us her garden and explained all about it. Marvelous what you can find, this garden is really a chapter for itself.

The views to the ocean is spectacular. Especially the balcony on first floor are the perfect place to relax after a good day exploring Madeira.

Truly we can say, the stay here for a week were amazing and we will definitely come back for more and enjoy the beauty of the place and the magnificent views of the sea and the mountains.

Amazing Place to stay

Well located in the Madeira region, from where you can take an organized trip or a rented car to see all the beauty of the island! Five-star service by people of high culture.

Five-star service with very tasteful interiors.

The landlady is hospitablity incarnated. From the lovely Bolo de Mel and Madeira wine at our arrival, to the fruits and vegetables from her garden she shared with het guests.
The accomodation is really perfect. With a kitchen, a terras, a balcony and the garden the guests can share. Plus eating room, sitting room, the garden..... The quinta has an authentic atmosphere and is decorated with much love and an eye for detail. Its really a little paradise. We felt a bit spoiled here. Filomena goes at great length to make you feel at home.

 · Some people mention it is difficult to find with the GPS system of the car. Just follow the instructions on te website of the quinta. At the end, follow the signs.

Where the hospitability is proverbial

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home on the hillside, with it’s far reaching views, quiet location and charming hostess. Filomena gave us a special welcome with Madeiran treats and more importantly her time and conversation, a delightful lady.
There are great, spacious communal areas plus a well equipped guest kitchen and a sunny veranda. Cold buffet breakfast with the highlights of freshly squeezed juice, seasonal produce from the garden which included avocados, custard apples, bananas, apples and pomegranates and local cakes. 
We were happy with the location for going off doing Levada walks. Note: A car is definitely recommended for a stay here. 

Super Madeiran Experience 

We've been to Madeira several times in the last 10 years, but this vacation has been the best so far. Very nice rooms, very well located, wonderful hostess, everything always to the utmost satisfaction. I think we weren't the last time we went to Mrs. Macedo. Best wishes and many thanks to Cabuco.

Best stay on Madeira.

We enjoyed five perfect nights at Quinta do Cabouco, looked after by our perfect host, Filomena. The accommodation is perched high above Ribeira Brava, offering marvellous views out across the ocean and down towards the town, and the neighbourhood is very tranquil at all times of the day.

Filomena welcomes you into her home as if you were a family member, and on arrival we were served tea, home made cake, freshly made passion fruit juice and a glass of Madeira, which was extremely generous and made us feel very special.

The house is elegant, spacious and furnished in a traditional style, and as well as our huge bedroom we had access to a first floor lounge and another lounge on the ground floor, which had the dining area to one side and kitchen facilities which were available to us on the other. It is a delightful place to relax in, and we enjoyed doing so after spending our days exploring the island’s many walks.

Breakfasts were excellent, and allowed you to prepare plates according to your own tastes from a beautiful array of meat, cheese, fresh bread and pastries, home made jams and fruit, and make your own coffee using the espresso machine. The wonderful view from the table made breakfast a particularly memorable experience.

We experienced more of Filomena’s generosity over Christmas, when a table of home made cakes, cookies, dried fruit, nuts, bacalau and olives was laid out on the ground floor on Christmas Eve. We assumed that this was a feast that had been prepared for her family members, and we were overwhelmed when she told us that it was for her guests to enjoy. We were really touched by this special gesture, and it really sums up the lengths that Filomena goes to to ensure that her guests are happy during their stay.

Madeira is a magical place to visit, and Quinta do Cabouco is unique and magical place to stay on the island. We have many special memories of our holiday, but we cannot thank Filomena enough for the kindness and generosity we experienced during our stay with her, and we can not recommend her accommodation highly enough.

A Unique Experience

The hotel was the most beautiful we've ever stayed in: a beautiful old mansion with plenty of accommodation, several terraces, a huge orchard and a magical hostess who takes her guests seriously and is willing to tell them about the island and its peculiarities.
