Situated 30 yards from the bus stop, had a very warm welcome from Paulo the owner, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Printing maps and bus timetables, advice on local walks,bars, shopping and restaurants. Cooked me a lovely local fish with wholesome local vegetables. Hotel did a filling breakfast, rooms were cleaned daily, great views from my balcony and best of all a bath, which was much appreciated after all that walking.

We're looking forward to coming back one day thank you Paul and yours his team for the quality time they've provided us and the good memories my son will have one day everything is very good from breakfast to dinner and we get to visit a lot of things that Paul advised us we love going to the wood

They were all very nice.

The accommodation has everything needed for a nearly perfect stay, the only one but it is somewhat outdated the furniture and above all the humidity (at least in the triple room that we had during the stay) These aspects have become less important because above all Paolo and Armando (the hosts) make the stay better than 10. All attention, kindness, sympathy. Abundant breakfasts in a spacious room where they also offer meals and dinners at a very good price. And the possibility of ordering picnics to spend the day off the road at an outrageously cheap price for what you carry.

Unforgettable 

Perfect stay! Located 30 seconds from the bus stop in the very centre of town, this hotel provides all the amenities and services required for a comfortable stay. The management were enthusiastic, friendly, professional, articulate and dedicated, complimenting the cosy rooms and all-round positive vibes of the entire establishment. Breakfast was prompt and satisfying, with pastries, meats, cheeses, juices, coffee/teas and jams, and situated in an airy space with a terrace. Everything was great. Would recommend.

Exquisite Stay

The host makes this place so special. Paulo is the ultimate hotelier and a very good chef too. Delicious dinner and a great breakfast. For the price, this hotel is very good value. Ponta Delgada is a wonderful getaway. Make sure to visit the public pool with its spectacular scenery nearby.

A great find!

We like Ponta Delgada . 3rd time here. Previous times down the hill at another marvelous hotel but as I said "down the hill". It's all hills here. The views are astounding. Previous times it has been warmer with most plants all dried out and lizards everywhere. This time (November) everything is really green and temperature about 15 degrees. Mangoes , papaya, lemons, shoe shoes (?) and avocados hanging off the trees. Loads of grape vines but no grapes. It rained frequently at night  with gales and rivers running down the road. The sun rises over the mountain range at 11.30am and it goes dark about 8pm. The Corte Do Norte hotel is flat bang in the centre of this sleepy settlement. The few shops and bars are across the road. The hotel is well place for folk out for a walk. A tunnel through the rocks "the Tunnel of Doom" is unbeatable for the views. The hotel was built in 1985. Paulo the, owner, receptionist, waiter, dogsbody cannot be any more helpful. Paulo does the cooking and the week we were there it was quiet and we ate all sorts that Paulo dreamed up or what we fancied. We were even eating his mother's hens eggs for breakfast. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the quality of the food, too much perhaps. The room we got was the "honeymoon suite" which had a balcony facing the sea and mountain. It had a proper 6ft bed and was comfortable. I had a peek at other rooms and they all had good balcony views. Bad points - there are a few marks and scrapes on the corridor walls and a tile or two in the bathroom was broken. All in all, this is a really good hotel in a stunning location. There are enough shops, chemists and bars to keep any traveler happy and the locals are very friendly. Prices are very reasonable, enough for us to take a taxi from the airport and back and think it worth while.

Lots of "Wow" factor.

To a very nice establishment, during all the time that we have been provided with a quality and excellent service, with good professionals and good logistics, I thank Paul who was tireless, without missing anything, a huge hug and thank you.

Good price and good staff

A quiet place, close to the sea and the mountains. Great for resting body and mind. Mr. Paulo is a tireless person, besides being a great host, he is also a good cook. With the amount of tunnels that exist today on Madeira Island, it is easily and quickly accessible from anywhere on the island. To return with all certainty.

Hello, we have spent 11 days in the establishment of Paulo. What to say about this stalagem corte do norte and although positive starting with the rooms (very good, spacious, housekeeping done every day, towels also changed). The meals we have taken every evening are excellent quality and very satisfying. We ate 90% fresh fish. Paulo advises you regarding your desires as well as the restaurants for lunch when you do not eat at his house. He is an excellent host. We recommend this establishment, it is worth it. Note 10/10. Holidays

Ate here twice whilst staying in nearby hotel. Excellent value for money, simple menu of local home cooked food. Fantastic host, we were well looked after, felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
