I stayed here for a few nights during August this year and wasn't disappointed. For an indpendent hotel it has everything some of the bigger hotel chains have to offer. For starters my room was prestine clean and was very spacious for a single room equipped with a fairly large bathroom and power shower. Please be aware that this hotel is situated in close proximity to the train station so there will be some noise, however with the air conditioning on I closed the windows.

The food, what can i say, everything I had was superb, from the breakfast that was included to dinner time. The chef must be congratulated as every meal I had there, from roast beef steak to Gorganzola and pear toast was delicious. I definitely recommend anyone who is staying in Zielona Gora for business or pleasure to book this hotel. The staff, whether they were receptionists or waiters were very polite, attentive with happy faces despite the days being very hot. Well done Retro!

Excellent stay at the Hotel Retro Zielona Gora

We used Booking.com to find a hotel in Zielona Gora. My partner is a parkrunner so we had some important criteria - less than 1 mile from parkun, easy access to train station and not too far from the main city area. 

We were dropped off by our Flixbus, a few paces away from the hotel. I advised in Polish that I had a reservation, and hearing that I was not native, the receptionist kindly asked if I preferred Polish or English (I preferred that rather than assuming English). We were directed to our room which was huge! Overlooking the train station with a hallway down to the enormous bathroom. It was perfect. We wished we'd have stayed longer to enjoy this room. We popped down to the little Zabka for some snacks (tip, Zabka stores are everywhere and they'll heat food up for you!) 

Back at the hotel, even though we were overlooking the main street, it wasn't distracting, we both had a brilliant night sleep. My partner didn't like the separate duvets on the bed, but, I didn't mind so much. We woke up the next morning, made our way to parkrun, and then returned to freshen up. The receptionist allowed us to leave our bags and coats in the hotel whilst we explored a little of the town centre before our train journey, the main town is around 20 minutes walk - pop down to Park Winny along the way for a picture at the Zielona Gora sign! The main town has a great shopping mall - I specifically wanted a book shop so that I could buy some Polish childrens books. 

We got a taxi back to the hotel, retrieved our baggage and continued on our journey.

Great room for overnight stay in Zielona Gora

This hotel we a great 'find'. It has been renovated to a really high standard (German taps and Danish pillows for example!). Welcoming staff and beautiful room. Good location by the train station, but not far from the town centre. Very comfy bed. I can really recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay

The Hotel Retro is very small but very fine, as they say. The small double rooms for 56 € are relatively small, but they are quite comfortable and perfectly suited for a short visit to the city. Our modern bathroom was quite large compared to the room itself. The (breakfast) restaurant makes a decent impression and the restaurant in the courtyard (open air) is very nice. Since the hotel is located directly at the train station and thus on a main street with staff access, it is of course also a little quiet, but this is hardly a factor in the absence of closed windows. Despite the railway station, it is actually a relatively comfortable place to stay. Even here, the breakfast chef is not recommended for a good service, but it is not recommended for a very good service.

Small but fine, smaller service defects, but removable, actually only 3.5 stars

The completely renovated house not only offers beautiful clean rooms but also has a very recommended restaurant. Those who arrive at noon also get a very cheap good lunch table. The location right at the train station is ideal for train travellers and is much quieter than you would expect there. An absolute price-performance highlight!

Nice little hotel with a very good restaurant

The renovated train station hotel and the retro-style hotel. Very clean rooms, very good beds!), very friendly staff and a stylish restaurant with very good cuisine! You can only recommend staying here!

This is a good place to stop!

A meticulously renovated older building. My room was small but snug and well appointed. Modern bathroom, free wifi and air conditioning. It is conveniently located across the street from the train station. The reception office was locked up for most of my stay, possibly due to a public holiday, so not much interaction with staff. No coffee or tea in the room. No access to coffee early in the morning. I got my java from a kiosk at the train station. Very good coffee, I  might add. I had dinner at the restaurant and it was just okay. Lovely courtyard terrasse.

Snug Comfortable Room.

As the number of hotels to choose from was very limited because we made booking at the last minute, we decided to stay in Retro. Hotel is located by the railway station and very busy street but surprisingly no noice was getting through :-) Rooms are not really roomy but for this price you cannot expect more. Bathroom is really spacious and nice but the light is not good enough if a lady wants to put a make up on. Beds are comfy and breakfast is really delicious.

Nice place with convenient location

A fantastic hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Very good and quiet location, even though the railway station is nearby. Friendly, family environment! Many thanks for your response! A hotel to recommend!

Holiday.

The hotel-retro is located opposite the train station in Zielona Gora, but it is very quiet and comfortable. It has very large and well equipped air-conditioned rooms. It is a better-class hotel and can withstand any comparison with more expensive hotels in the centre of Greenberg. The price-performance ratio is therefore right. The staff is friendly, hospitable and linguistically gifted. The breakfast buffet is rich and tasty. The hotel's restaurant offers a rich menu with dishes at moderate prices. Wine lovers also have their pleasure here!
