Really enjoyed my stay there, Carmela and her husband are so nice and helpful. They will explain you the things to see around and how to reach them ! Best price I found in the centre, beds super comfortable and breakfast included, recommended.

Best hostel in the neighborhood

This is probably the best hostel you will find in Trugillo. It is walking distance into the heart of the city, has spacious rooms, clean bathrooms and free breakfast. The biggest plus of this hostel was our amazing host Camilla. She is a very kind and extremely helpful host! She helped us with a number of things including giving us a detailed map of the city and things to do, assisted in our money exchange, helped us find a bus to Huaraz, and then when we missed that night bus she let us stay another night at VERY last second. We don’t know what we would have done without Camilla’s assistance... especially since we are from Canada and don’t speak Spanish...her english was very good. Thank you Residencial Munay Wasi for a great stay and all your help! We recommend anyone to stay here.

GREAT hostel, amazing host!

Travelling with my son and he had stayed here before.   Spacious clean rooms with comfy beds and plenty of hot water in shower.  Owner gives an information sheet and very helpful.  Good breakfast of eggs, rolls and toast.  Only a couple of blocks from Plaza with plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Good location and friendly helpful owner

The double room with a private bathroom was nice, large and quiet enough to rest. The furniture looks like it was taken from several houses of people who have been detached from different things. Breakfast is already something else. We had it included because we expected standards from other hotels. But it wasn't like that, we had to cook the eggs in a kitchen and pan that was pretty dirty and then scrub everything we had used. I have no problem cooking or scrubbing, of course, but when I choose me because I bought food and I want to cook. We felt deceived and that they had sought ways to include breakfast to attract more people and fill the room with no sense.

A very warm welcome by the owner of the hostel. She is very polite and informative. I must say that the breakfast is outstanding! Fruit juice, bread, butter, toasts , jelly, tea, coffee, milk and 2 eggs that you can prepare in that moment in the way you want or keep them in the refrigerator to eat them later.  Free kitchen with anything you need.
Something that I could suggest to the owner is to supervise frequently the workers  in charge of cleaning, because some spider weds were found in the corners, the kitchen equipment was greasy and the bathrooms weren´t clean promptly, the guests have to ask the owner the cleanliness of the bathrooms because it was offered to be made every 3 days but the workers only emptied the  toilette garbage deposits.

Warm welcome and great breakfast!

This hostel is located within a family home within walking distance from plaza del Armas. The breakfast is self service but offers delicious eggs and coffee. Nancy was very helpful when we checked in and provided us with useful information about Huacas del sol y Luna and chan chan ruins. The only thing I would say is that there were times when I felt like the guests presence was a slight inconvenience to the family I.e. when using the kitchen.

A restful stay in Trujillo

We really enjoyed our short stay here. The very friendly owner recognised us from 5 years ago when we stayed here on a couple of occasions. There had been some improvements to the property - a patio with plants swingseat and chairs by the entrance. We stayed in a comfortable, warm room with a bathroom next door. There was plenty of hot water in the shower too. The breakfast was good with fresh eggs and bread. The kitchen is perfect if you want to cook which we didn't do this time due to our short stay - (we wanted to visit our favourite restaurant for dinner). I can definitely recommend you stay here - very good value for money and very central location.

Great friendly guesthouse in the historical centre 

The hostel is a little backward in a courtyard, the rooms are a bit older but have a certain charm. We would go back there. Don't forget - Carmela - the owner, she does everything you feel comfortable doing and helps with a lot of travel information. Thank you very much, Gracias Carmela

Nice hostel with a family touch.

When we first arrived the lady who owns the hostel gave us a warm welcome and lots of info about the town, she gave maps and even recommended places in huanchaco, the beach town we re heading to next. The rooms were clean, good showers and breakfast of bread and eggs. Would recommend as it was nice and quiet and in a great location!

This is a lovely hotel, very elegant peaceful hotel, we arrived very late and it didn't seem any trouble at all to find us something to eat, the waitress in the dining room couldn't have been more helpful
