93 reviewsWent there for four days, two couples. We were there in off season so it was almost like having the whole place to ourselves. Apparently in busy season there can be as many as 200 people staying there. Glad we had a quieter time. Excursions were fantastic. Our guide Fredy was with us from the bus in Iquitos throughout the whole trip. He was an endless fount of knowledge about the land, animals and the people. He told us folk lore stories, ecology of the forest and the pressures upon it and took us into see the virgin untouched forest away from human habitation. We learned about the way of life of the indigenous people in the modern day and how it has changed, and how difficult life can be. No sugar-coating tourist friendly nonsense. Excellent food, great service. Do go there for a Peruvian Amazon experience!
