At 1am, they were in the hallway talking and laughing loudly among themselves. At 5am those who went on tours were also not discreet. At the level of cleanliness, they seem to be doing the minimum strictness so that it is not horrible. It's a shame because the owners are very friendly...

Extremely noisy and quite dirty.

Warning :
Last month we went to the Huayhuash trek, a group of 15, with the hostel's travel agancy. On the 6th day of the trek, we spent the night in a village, and our guide and donkey driver got really drunk. The next day they left us in the middle of the way, without any of the staff members, to make our way to the next camp by our own. This is a SUPER-IRRESPONSIBLE thing to do, in a trek that is known as not really safe, and a couple of people have DIED there. Fortunately, we finished the trek, and got back to huaraz safe and sound, but I don't want to know what could have happened. When we talked to Evan after the trek, it seemed like he didn't understand what's wrong with what happened. We didn't get one dollar back. 
My recommendation is to AVOID THIS AGENCY

Guide got drunk on the trek and left us alone

Regarding equipment - he  showed us original  north face tent its the quality we will all get
Lies list
1)He brought other faked companies and BAD sleeping bag. In return he promised again other good quality and lied again he gave untaged unkown sleeping bag.
2) he changed and the promised plan he will do it.
Then he asked for  
So when asked for him to be the guide.
He asked extra money then agreed again.
4) A few hours laters he said he cant come but he still charges the extra money Because the guide is expensie

I won't recommand him for anyone

Dont go - he is lying and dishonest.

I am not sure if I was unlucky, but I did not find my room to be as clean as other reviewers mentioned. Our bathroom had a bad smell and the shower leaked water everywhere. Plus the lighting was poorly designed and could not open the curtains, so it was not an appealing room. BTW, the room was 'Chopicalqui'.

It's not recommended if you want to rest and get a good night's sleep, far away from the historic center.

Poor attention from the owner.

After almost a month I was looking for a quiet accommodation, we first went to another one that made me very uncomfortable and I was recommended to SANTIAGOSHOUSE 8 minutes or 10 from the center of Huaraz zone very quiet rooms very dining with private bathroom and hot water, something that highlights the terrace is magnificent an impressive view of the mountains and not to mention the owner malina y roy who helped us with the tours and at affordable prices as I recommend it as being in SANTIAGOSHOUSE is like being in a family thanks.

Very good accommodation, excellent care.

Well and at an affordable price, located 10 minutes from the center of Huaraz, it has good shared rooms and showers with hot water, breakfast delivery. good quality WiFi to keep in touch. if you go to the mountains, you can keep what you don't use and at no extra cost.

The owner is unfriendly and only helpful to the Israeli guests, all other nations are not welcome. In addition, the travel agency has an owner (Yvan), the world's biggest fraudster and money-loving man, who is behind his own workers and clients.

The travel agency at the hostel cheated on me.

This hostel was a really good choice, we arrived very early in the morning and the staff were helpful and friendly and let us check into the room straight away (and didn't charge extra for it).  We napped and they woke us up for a delicious pancake breakfast. The tours arranged on sight are great and very friendly staff. Only complaint  was the noise..  a few large groups were staying and made a lot of noise late at night and relatively early in the morning.  Other than that a really lovely hostel, excellent value. 

Helpful stuff, clean rooms, good breakfast

the owner is very very nice and always helps. i was sick and she walked with me for hours in the city for finding a doctor for me. after that Melina stay with me at the doctor room, shortly - amazing. the hostel has a really good wifi and comfortable beds. and so cheap!! try it!
