Excellent accommodation and good treatment from the owners.The very beautiful rooms and colonial decoration in perfect condition. the super accessible location and very good prices for tourists who want to know Chimbote.

A great weekend.

Our three generation family of 8 had four rooms at La Vieja Casona Hostal July 20- 21, 2017 while meeting with ACAF civil association. 

We greatly enjoyed the ambience of this unique boutique hostal near downtown Chimbote and especially the outstanding hospitality and service of Willie, the proprietor whose parents had built the house as their private residence. He is quite fluent in English and is a great host.

Outstading Hospitality in Unique Property

Unfortunately, Chimbote doesn't have much to offer, and yet you can find cozy places and super nice people. Willy from the Old Casona is such a person. He was super nice and very helpful on our trip. The hostel has gotten a little old. The rooms and especially the mattresses and the shower are very good, but the outdoor pool, the sauna and the great breakfast are of extra class. Wonderful to relax. We will stay in the hostel again.

The best hostel in Chimbote!

We stayed here in April 2015 and arrived very late with 3 kids, including a 2 year old.  Tired, worn out and hungry, Willie greeted us and he immediately ordered food from a local restaurant; we had not even checked in yet!
After we ate, we made it into our spacious rooms and slept well.  The next morning we had a home cooked breakfast prepared by Willie with amazing conversation regarding global affairs and his personal experiences.  It was very engaging; the kind of discourse any swanky coffee shop would envy.  Of course, the kids took advantage of the pool that morning and made the rest of our trip pleasant for all later that day.  While indeed the area may be somewhat questionable at first, La Vieja Casona's charm and impeccable host transforms it into its own little paradise.

The hotel was very pretty and Willy the owner made us feel very welcome and at home. When we were looking for a restaurant for a late lunch, the owner called a restaurant owner and had him stay open for us and then  walked us to the restaurant.  He speaks good English which was really great when he helped us resolve an issue with a taxi cab driver who trying to get us pay more than was agreed upon. Willy even taught us how to make Pisco sours.  The hotel was very comfortable and a short walk from the market and downtown.

Pretty place to stay with a great host

Excellent care, first-class facilities (cuentan with sauna, swimming pool and own carriage), a warm and pleasant atmosphere.

A perfect and warm place.

The service is excellent. The treatment is as if you are staying at home. No disturbing noise. Good rest. Delicious breakfast. Super recommended. The kindness and cleanliness are unparalleled. Clean pool, spacious rooms with good Wi-Fi. Centric and has a coach and sauna.

It was a wonderful Christmas week.

Very nice place. It's very quiet and comfortable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service is spectacular by its owners and the breakfast is delicious. It was great to get to rest and spend the night. As you can see in the photos, it's ideal for motorcyclists traveling, as was our case. It's very safe to store motorcycles. The only thing is that there are no places nearby to dine.

Since we arrived, and before that, in the reserve, we were treated very well, with excellent hospitality and familiar treatment.The hotel is very well cared for, it is a Casona that has nothing of Old, for its cleanliness and beauty in keeping things in perfect condition.The stay was very pleasant!

Like at home...!

Very good place to spend your holidays! So quiet.. You can relax yourself with pool and sauna. The rooms are smallish and clean. The owners are very kind and polite. I totally suggest this place.  Willy speaks English which is a bonus when you are trying to find out out how to fill in time whilst in Chimbote....he even accompanied me on some of the trips.
He recommended me a nice restaurant in downtown too,
Chimbote is a smelly, not many attractions type of place but it was good to get back to Willy's house at the end of the day.
