Paid $20 per night for this hotel, which also has pay-by-the-hour rates published at reception... Room was clean and OK given the low price, though had a very noisy air conditioner. Location was convenient, with a metro station across the street. Somewhat confusing to find; it's been moved a block away from it's previous location...

cheap and not very cheerful

I repeat the same as the previous coms: $25 a night for two but only wifi at the reception. They had to return the key as soon as we left.

It's cheap, but it's the only good thing.

It's a cheap hotel, 25 dollars a night, but then it's not even worth 10... closet in the room, very bad sound, small and very uncomfortable bed, no breakfast, you have to return the key every time you go out, the only advantage is a two-dollar transport to the airport.

It's awful.

If you are visiting Panama City, this is for sure not the place to stay. It was cheap, but would not recommend to my worst enemy!
Online it said that there was wifi, which was a lie. The staff looked like they where forced to be there, no smiles, no help. 
It was the most filthy and dirty place I have ever visited. The floor was covered in ants and hair from other guests. Furthermore, it looked like there was blood on the wall. The shower was a place you definitely wouldn't go barefooted because it had not been cleaned since Panama became independent! The breakfast was included but it was two pieces of toast, coffee and something they called juice. 
If someone pointed a gun to my head and forced me to say something positive about this place, it would be, that it is close to a metro station. 
Bottom line - do not book a reservation at Pension America.
