Sweetie, a door that doesn 't guarantee a closing of the room, scratched floor, mold, no shower box, just a crooked curtain, I ate a good omelette but it came after 40 minutes of clockwork!

Great trip

The place is amazing, very nice room, but bathroom was not confortable to small and sliding door not nice for privacy.The restaurant is good, good pasta and pizza. Italian food very nice.Breakfast is included but need more (coffee or tea, omelette, and 2 small bread pieces)Enviroment its all, good music and nice front beach.

Rooms are right next to the beach.  The place is very calm and peaceful.  The hotel is owned by an Italian family who gives a great service and the cook delicious meals.  No complaints for this place.  I will like to return soon.  Just a warning for Internet addicts...this is a place to rest.  There is WiFi signal but is not too fast but if you want to rest...that is a great advantage.

It's definitely a disappointment especially because we pay the price of a luxury hotel, the air conditioning isn't enough for the heat of the area and the cabin becomes a sauna.. the attention is terrible, there I leave you some photos that speak for themselves of the site.. by the way the owner doesn't accept any responsibility and reacts insultingly to his staff (local).

Looking for another option..

Unfortunately, the poor rating is for the experience with the owner, not the food or the location. Don't get me wrong Cambutal beach is beautiful and the food was great at Boom Shiva, but please be informed about how to reserve at the this place. We reserved the day before by "whasapp" (widely used in Panama) and everything was great. We arrived around 3pm for check-in and we (2 adults and a 6 year old) were given the beach front Cabanas (which is beautiful, view is spectacular, etc.) which had 2 beds. We dropped our stuff and went to play in the ocean until the sun was ready to set, we then rinsed off outside with the rain shower and changed into some evening clothing. We sat down to eat a great meal and as we were on our last bites the owner came to tell us that he had bad news, an error had been made and the cabanas was reserved for someone else and that our reservation was for the little unit set back from the cabanas. I was a little disappointed with how all of this was handled, so I finished my meal and went to settle the bill. I informed the owner that given the situation we decided to head back home (Pedasi is a 2 hour drive) because we didn't want to stay in the little unit which only had one bed and was really small (not sure where my child was going to sleep). He wrote up the bill and wanted to charge us 50% of the room fee as a cancelation fee. I disagreed because a mistake was done and I felt like I had the right to decline being put into another unit 5 hours after check-in. It would of been a whole different story if we had been assigned to right unit front the start. Anyways, long story short... he was so insulted that he asked me to leave and refused I paid anything, I insisted on paying the meal but he wouldn't hear it. We left a little in shock of such a situation. When we got home (2 hours away) we realized our camera bag was missing. Right away I messaged him apologizing with how the night ended and that I would come in morning to collect my bag and settle the bill for supper. I never heard from him that night or even in morning. I left early the following day and drove there anyways because at that point I had realized my wedding ring was in the bag and I was really sad about losing all the photos (1 month worth) from our trip. My heart was relieved when I saw he had the bag. With a straight face, he asked me for the 50% cancelation fee and dinner bill in return of my stuff. Let's say it wasn't the greatest feeling in the world, you pick your battles. I paid, left a tip (because our young waiter was super nice) and left feeling sad and empty but relieved I had my belongings.

Bad experience

We stayed at Boom Shiva for one night in July 2018. The room was spacious for two and clean. It’s next to the beach and we had a good night sleep as it was really peaceful there. Menu and food was great with different options. We had pasta and burger and both were really tasty. Wifi was a bit slow. The owner was fantastic and definately would love to stay another time there as well.

Lovely place to stay

If you breathe in the forest and the beach because you have the mountains in the back where from 4 pm the monkeys can be heard and in front of the sea. it is something indescribable that you can only feel when visiting it.
