The Eclypse de Mar is by far the best hotel I have stayed at. We order our menu in the afternoon, the restaurant and the bar are adorable. Manuela was present and good advice. The dining room is on a pilotis, and offers a reduced lunch menu, but the dishes are all excellent and very rich. Dinner is composed in the day according to arrivals and what the chef has bought on the main island. We order our menu in the afternoon, the restaurant and the bar are all ready, there is no waiting, we have nothing but to enjoy. The small paddleboard can be served on our terrace on a pilotis, around the small sunbathing areas, but in addition, the old paddleboard can be used without the need to walk down the street from the old room to the old one, but we do not want to dream of the inhumane lodge, but we do not want to go around the hotel.

Pure Happiness

They put me to sleep in a room of brushes... a tiny room, I ordered a change, and they offered me another room for a higher price than the room was... Incredibly I recommend looking into it.

The paradise must be near here.The place is beautiful, the bungalows are comfortable.You can swim directly from the door.And you can also wear kayak, paddle and snorkeling goggles.The excursion we booked with them at Cayo Zapatilla was fantastic!

A very special hotel.

A delight from beginning to end: a beautiful place on the sea, with the clear water, delicious food and warm attention! exceeds any expectation! Lila's kindness, Enrica's delicious food and the drinks that Pierre prepared for us were the cherry of the cake!

Our new favorite place!

The hotel is beautiful it’s really nice! Our room was over the water and was kept  clean the staff is also nice and friendly. We went to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends and  really enjoyed our stay. The food was also  good. 

This is an “Eco-friendly hotel” which means that  they depend on solar panels and you don’t have electricity in your room during the day. If you need to charge your phone you must go and way by the reception/ restaurant and wait. They turn on the electrical power at 6pm and it’s on till 9am. 

Unfortunately, on  our last day they had no running water so we couldn’t shower or use the bathrooms that was a big NO for us.  I can  deal with not having electricity during the day but running water is a necessity.

The most dreamy place you can go to

We spent 3 nights at Eclypse de Mar.  We were in the honeymoon bungalow 5 & they set it up with 2 twin beds & a king for our family of 4, which was really nice!  The food was good (we ate breakfast & dinner here each day) And they organized our tours as private tours for the 2 1/2 days we had there.  The property & staff & food are really nice....but the neighbors across the water play really loud music into the wee hour of the morning...Friday & Saturday  night they went to 3:30am, Sunday night 1:30am...there's no AC, so you have to leave your windows open for air & the noise was really awful!  Sure, there are earplugs- but water in your ears from snorkeling/swimming & earplugs aren't a good combo, not to mention, earplugs don't really work & they often hurt.  Bring your own noise protection if you do decide to stay here...we'd go elsewhere, honestly!

Food was delicious- breakfast & dinner both were really good, there is enough variety at dinner for 3 nights, but beyond that you'd probably want to start venturing out.  We ate lunches wherever our guide stopped us at, all of which was good- be safe & take cash with you for these lunches, they are not all credit card (or ask before you go).  Hotel does keep a cash box you can buy cash from them at about a 3% rate.  You can also add your tips to your checkout with the hotel.

Tours- it was really nice to have Eclypse arrange our tours for us, the prices were the same as what the guy who brought us in the water taxi to the location said.  Nico was really great, a careful & experienced boat driver, spoke English well, and obviously really enjoyed his job & being with people...amazing how much fruit he cut up for us!  Alejandro was our 'guide' for our day at zapatilla & our half day when we arrived.  Our primary purpose for visiting Bocas was to snorkel...and they did their best, water is warm, visibility was not very good, there weren't a lot of fish & coral was patchy & not in the best of condition.  We snorkeled hospital point the first day, Starfish Beach & a spot nearby the second, and near Zapatilla the third.  The last spot near Zapatilla snorkeling by boat out in the open behind where the waves had already broken was the best & easiest, the rest was a lot of work.   Alejandro was really informative & knew a lot about what we were seeing & did a great job sharing it (his brother was with us the day Alejandro was off & he didn't share so bird island was pretty uninformative (but Alejandro was supposed to go here with us maybe that's why! and a couple of us were almost seasick anyway so our time was short) Alejandro also introduced us to dive boarding which was so much fun, we highly recommend you ask for it!  We would really recommend that Eclypse de Mar have a go pro for their guides to use & then maybe sell the photos/videos to guests....or let guests 'rent' a go pro for their guide & then give them the results.  Alejandro used our go pro for the dive boarding, which worked out great...but when we did our last snorkel near Zapatilla (the best snorkel) he took it & didn't stay with us snorkeling....so we have pictures/videos of things we didn't even see & none of the 8 foot ray or the school of squid we did see...bummer!  (Alejandro should stay with his snorkelers, too, though!)  We did very much enjoy our time with Alejandro & Nico, though!

We definitely wouldn't go back to this part of Panama should we return...we'd go to Isla Palenque again where it's quiet & more peaceful!

Great place/staff!  Terrible neighbors if you like to get to sleep before 3:30am!

The hotel is super nice, the reception is warm. The comfort is excellent and the food is very good with reasonable prices (between 12 and 20 USD per plate). It is necessary to accept being on an island without electricity during the day and with the uncertainties of the weather. The water is calm and available for swimming and paddle or kayaking free of charge. We stayed one night and it is perfect for our family with two teenagers, but it was also too expensive to depend on your stay and expectations.

A cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city with very good service

This is a fabulous place! The person is unparalleledly kind. Attentive, kind, available. The bay is terribly nice and the water is calm, perfect for aquatic activities. I recommend bungalows, however, since the rooms with sea views are quite noisy because they are located near the restaurant. Thank you to the whole team!

Stay relaxed.

The hotel is lovely, comfortable and quiet!! With direct contact with nature. The hotel staff is super friendly and very attentive, the tour of the beaches offered by the hotel is top-notch and super VIP. The cleaning service in the rooms is daily, they have the private reservation so that you can meet it and enter the greenery for about 45 minutes!! It is a place of disconnection from the city: boat arrivals to the hotel from Isla Colón (taxi boat costs $2-3 per person), light and wifi are only available in the rooms of 6pm - 2am (only at the reception you have those services all day).
