After a lengthy search, I was excited and relieved to find Ersfjordbotn Brygge, as it ticked off many of my requisites.
The location of the apartment is unbelievably beautiful, even in the dead of winter with limited daylight.  We chose to hire a car, as public transport was patchy over the Christmas/New Year period of our visit.  There is a bus stop about 100m down the road.  
Check in with Ingvard was easy and friendly.  He even offered to hunt down a missing suitcase at the airport. The apartment was spacious and clean.  We cooked all of our meals of our 5 night stay in the well provisioned kitchen.  We did find the bed in the main bedroom a little small for my husband and I, so one of us slept in the bunk above, which was ok for us, but perhaps not those with limited mobility.
The view from the balcony was breathtaking, but devastatingly for us, cloud cover obscured any potential Aurora watching every night.
Unfortunately I do have to mention that communication with Ingvard, after our initial booking, was poor.  I emailed on many occasions, over a number of months, without reply.  It was out of desperation, thinking that I’d been conned by a fraudulent business, that I phoned.  Having confirmed that this is indeed not the case, I highly recommend a stay at Ersfjordbotn Brygge.

We stayed from 30/10/19 to 3/11/19 at this property, except for a little misunderstanding with the owner, all perfect.

A journey to find the dawn

Starting with booking, it is a little difficult to reach them but managed to call them to confirm our arrival time which was a little bit late. When we arrived the gentlemen came to let us in within 5 mins of our arrival which is nice, very friendly staff on site and he cared to show us around the room as well which is also nice. Points for this.

The location itself is unbeatable, next to the water with views of the mountains. I suggest going to a local supermarket called Eide Handel which has amazing products. Location is only a 20 min drive from the airport which is nice.

The downside is the room itself is quite bare bones. While the kitchen is well equiped, the bedrooms itself leaves much to be desired as there was only a dresser there, no night stand, no clothes rack, nothing. Although there was a washing machine inside the unit which did make up for it.

A slight makeover certainly would help.

Something good but definitely room for improvements

Very clean. There are all the amenities, including a large telescope, wifi and a heated floor. With a guest outlet right on the terrace. On the terrace of tables and chairs. About fishing. Trophy trellis and site right in the fjord, at a depth of 60 m. Zubatta 60 m. All the points are in the boat's navigator.

Of course it was fishing.

An idyllic location to view the magnificence of the Aurora right in the water, cannot fault it. The self-serviced apartments are very comfortable with a new, modern, clean interior. Has wi-fi. It does not have food or access to food nearby, the closest supermarket is 15min drive away, so make sure you shop first if you don't have a vehicle. However the owner was very hospitable with assisting with transport by shuttling us about.

The accommodation is well equipped and is located right by the water. Although there is no breakfast or any other supplies, the location is fantastic. From the room you can have a view of the water. The rooms have a terrace and are large, with kitchen (fully equipped), bathroom, washing machine.

Modern and clean apartment with 2 bedrooms and comfortable beds. Although it’s a 20 minutes drive from Tromso, it’s all worth it. All the apartments do have a great view over the water. We saw the beautiful northern light just in front of our apartment.

We booked and paid for the service called "Fjord Tour by bus around Kvaloga daytime" arranged by Ersfjordbotn Brygge about 1 month ago. Exact date of the day trip was 5th Oct. The company sent me an e-mail at midnight of the 4th Oct. that the trip was cancelled ! It was roughly 10 hours before the trip was supposed to start.
We spent 4 days in Bergen and 4 days in Tromso total 8 nights. We left Tromso on the 6th Oct. The 5th Oct. was our last day in Norway which gave us deep and positive  impression up to the moment we got the cancellation.
How can a service provider cancel a paid trip with just 10 hours notice in advance ? We did not have time to get another sight seeing trip.  We already spent some time in down town Tromso and so the last day was a big waste for us (1/8 of the total stay in Norway), with nothing else to visit.
We have complained to visit-tromso but the reply we got was that Ersfjordbotn Brygge had the right to cancel a trip. This is true but it does not mean that they can do it whenever they want to. The terms on cancellation does not specify that the service provider can cancel a paid trip without notice in advance. 
We strongly remind any potential customers of Ersfjordbotn Brygge be careful about any services provided by this company as they can cancel your paid booking at any time they prefer to.

The charming location, the size and the cleanliness of this apartment make it a wonderful place to stay.

Enchanting position

With the flats fronting onto the fjord this is a great location for seeing the northern lights - I took some great pictures....weather and conditions allowing. The flats are well appointed and staff excellent . The owner Ingvar (sorry if the spelling is wrong) most helpful and Rolf a very friendly and knowledgeable local guide.
It’s a great place to visit if you like walks and fresh air and picturesque scenery. Tromso is only a short drive (1/2 hr) and is worth a day trip.
