Well, as we all know the political unrest has rocked the once-vibrant tourism trade in Nica. We ventured on as we had heard that San Juan Del Sur was/is a bit of a sanctuary. We had the entire cheery hotel to ourselves. We were made to feel independent yet watched over by what seemed to be the 24h caretaker (whom incidentally can carve a coconut open in a few deft slashes). They were unable to serve us the complimentary breakfast but were duly apologetic. It felt like we were on a perch of the town yet so accessible. Go here with your family & friends! 


Second time visitors

I made reservations for 1 week. Left after 1 night. Located on a steep hilly street, it is an old house. The room was large but the bed terrible. Breakfast was from 8:30 am! And very small, the coffee bitter. It is a cheap hotel,the reports were good, but we were very disappointed. The staff was rudeand the place including the breakfast area,that is separate, dirty. Would not recommend this hotel.

Not a hotel!

The night before, we were robbed of our belongings at a bar, from cell phones, money, wallet and hotel keys, even though we explained what happened to them, they charged us $115 for the key replacement!!! They also threatened to call the police and immigration if we didn't pay.

No, I do not recommend it.

They have no customer service, I don't recommend this place at all, it's terrible the alleged owner treated us super badly, it turns out that we were robbed and to our disgrace was the hotel key from which this gentleman charged us a bill of $115 for the key theft, after which we were threatened with reporting our passports to a migration.

The worst service ever.

We booked three nights here with our friends.  The hotel was interesting with lovely painted murals and sitting areas.  We had a spacious family room.  The bedding is very bright but you soon get used to it!   The bathroom was fine although the electric shower looked a little dodgy, on the first night we didn’t have any hot water but that was resolved once we complained.  The AC was very effective which was good as we didn’t have a window in our room.   Breakfast was good with plenty of coffee.  All the staff were friendly and helpful.  The hotel is a little way away from the front and we had to leave our car in the road. But this is reflected in the price. 
We had a lovely stay here and would recommend it.

Interesting stay here

Was looking for clean, quiet basic accommodation above hostel scene but not too expensive.  My room had a double and a bunk bed so would have worked well for a family or friends sharing.  Care had been taken to make the room appealing with bright, colorful sheets and curtains.  Bed was comfortable.  Room and bathroom spotlessly clean.  Hot water capable but not working.  Ceiling fan and air conditioning.  Great breezes in evening... wish window had bars so I could have left it open at night.  Didn't have a view but not not an issue for my needs.  Breakfast was good.  Wifi decent in room.  Not sure if English was spoken... staff friendly and helpful in spanish.  Kept my bag secure for a few hours after checkout time.

Good valye for price point

We stayed one night in room 4. The room itself was amazing, 4 beds, lots of space, tv, AC, private bathroom (no hot water) but unfortunately there was a very strong and special smell in that room. We opened the door and window and hoped it would get better, but it didnt. Also, as the room did not have moscito nets on the windows, we could not leave them open during the night. Additionally, the wifi connection was only average.

Clean. Accommodated in room 6.Really hot water. Good cleaning. Slightly shallow breakfast. A little more fruit. The air conditioning is somewhat noisy. Price adjusted to what is offered. Quiet area for sleeping but close to the center.

Rest in the hot San Juan del Sur.

As I said first, it was a very expensive two-night stay, costing 250 euros or even if I wanted in dollars, we were charged the room was clean if it was wet and the breakfast was cheaper to eat out of the room than if the whole eggs we asked for were hard and the gallopinto ration was for a day and two options or orange juice or coffee juice that for me the juice does without filtered water because my daughter is cooking a bacterium in her stomach that if I look bad I can't be sure but I'm nicaraguense if it's the taste tell me then the cheese and a piece of fruit that is so cheap in nicaragua I'll tell you other things you'll change your seropinto not if you get into gallopinto we're used to our emotions in discharging so much that you can't get into the hotel but at least you can't get into the hotel because you can't get into a hotel with at least 20 dollars worth of guns, but you can't get into a hotel with at least 20 guns, but you can't get out of it because you can't get

The title I can give you is that it was a pretty expensive experience for the kind of hotel that is.

We chose this hotel because there's a kitchen with everything you need to cook if you want and a very popular common living room, everything is very clean and we even had a small refrigerator in our room. The best internet of all the travel and tranquility, no dog, no cock, no music... Air conditioning in the room and good ventilation so perfect for us, I forgot it was very well located, almost everything: 5 minutes walk from the beach, many restaurants on both sides of the street and most of all quiet. Another big plus: excellent and lunch. The cop is really very kind and smiling.
