We stayed here for three nights, lovely time. Great location right on the Main Street. Beautiful rooms and pool. Although we didn't enjoy this place as much as the other places we have stayed in throughout our trip of Nicaragua. It was very expensive for what they were offering... Breakfast was a simple pancake nothing special. Our rooms weren't cleaned whilst we were out. The staff weren't as friendly as we would have hoped. We were expecting the shower to be cold but the water was very hard and made our hair feel horrible. The rooms were quite small.It was empty most of the time, which was nice. If you are not on a budget this place is great and I would recommend it. Besides all my negative remarks it is a nice place, I just think it was too overpriced.

Beautiful place

We arrived to Granada around 3:00 PM and struggled to find a place to stay close to downtown that was not full, it was a Saturday and festivities were going on. We were carrying our packs, hot, hungry, tired and unclean from a long stay on Ometepe Island. We stumble upon La Cigale and spoke to Ana. The cost of the room was a bit more than we wanted to pay (we had been staying in cheap hostels) but, we where ready for something nicer. The price was worth it. We stayed two nights. Lester seemed to be there the entire time and was always smiling! He made sure everything was taken care of for us. We were served an exceptional breakfast each morning. Martin, one of the owners was also at the property throughout our stay. Each of the staff members we met went above and beyond in their hospitality! We planned on staying one night but, liked it so much we splurged for two. It was a great place to end our Nicaraguan trip.

Incredible hotel right on the 'main street.'

The hotel is comfortable, the staff is very friendly, a swimming pool adds a warm welcome. The rooms sound luxurious and pleasant. Hotel highly recommended. A terrace is added to the hotel where you can observe a beautiful view.

It's perfect.

Very nice hotel, very friendly staff, perfect rooms, quiet hotel, delicious lunch, very nice decoration and very nice swimming pool to cool off.

It's a perfect hotel.

It's a really nice boutique hotel with a mix of colonial homes and luxurious furniture and amenities. its swimming pool is very good, clean and you can enjoy it day and night, the location is perfect as it is on the main street of Granada but at the same time it's quiet and cozy for the nights. the host (Martin) is really warm and treats his guests like friends of the house, providing correct information about what to do in Granada and how to have a good time in the city. thank you for everything served these days.

Excellent hotel and excellent care.

I've been there for a few days and i really liked it! Everything is clean and beautiful (very Beautiful and unique). But the thing there that makes this place the Best one is the people who are very Nice. I have been in 5 other place in granada and it's the best! It's comfortable (pool, ac, breakfast, quiet).

wonderful day

My fiancé and I stayed at La Cigale for 3 nights during March 2016. We had an incredible experience staying here. It was our first destination in Nicaragua so we were excited to relax and were pleasantly surprised by how at ease we felt as soon as we entered this beautiful boutique hotel. 

The rooms are perfect, as well as delicately decorated (in wonderful taste) and they do have some rooms with A/C if you prefer. Flora made us the most delicious breakfast each morning which included homemade jam created by the hotel's owner, Bridgette. After a busy day touring around Granada, there is nothing like returning back to Hotel La Cigale for a luxurious dip in the pool. We told the staff, and Bridgette, that we were marrying during our trip and they sweetly left us an exquisite bouquet ( 2 days in row!) for us outside our hotel room. The location is absolutely perfect, situated a bit farther down from the central strip of Calle La Calzada. This was so great as we always felt safe walking to and from our hotel after dinner in the evenings. 

When I was researching hotels to stay at in Granada/Nicaragua I noticed that many reviewers mentioned that there was an inadequate amount or 'lack' of hot water showers. To be quite honest, I find this to be a bit silly as it's really very hot (air temp wise) in Nicaragua - you really don't need them ( And I'm always cold, I'm Canadian!).  I suppose these individuals have forgotten that they have left their chilly abodes for the tropical shores of Nicaragua?;) To be sure, the showers are pleasant in Hotel La Cigale and truly perfect to top off your hot, travelling days while travelling the city of Granada.

My now husband and I can not wait to return to Hotel La Cigale again so we can revisit our incredible experience there, honestly the best hotel in Granada - hands down!

An Amazing Accommodation for the Nearly Wed!

The Exelente Hotel, which organizes the best canals and has very cheap prices, including breakfast, Wifi, has a terrace where you can see the sunset and look at the Cathedral of Granada and it is located on the main street of la Calzada.

It's been a long time coming.

The reception was pleasant, and in French. The room was very nice, and the furniture was very nice. We felt very comfortable. Everything is comfortable, clean and harmonious. The pool is really useful and allows for a relaxing and refreshing break in the middle of the city. The staff is smiling, forward and pleasant. The hotel is very quiet, and cozy. We were disappointed by the breakfast served, very brief. We would have liked to have had more choice. We had reserved a couple's massage evening, because of a power outage in the street, the hotel was deserted by all the staff, including our masseurs. No one offered us a price, it didn't get very comfortable. Also, the air conditioning wasn't included in our room for free, but it was available for 10 dollars in advance!
