Loved Sonati! Staff is super friendly and helpful with information on the area and will help you set up day trips- tons of info in the hostel to help you decide what to do. The kitchen is one of the best I've seen- outfitted with everything you'd need to cook. The common space is lovely- gets sun all day. It's big enough to meet some great people while there, but small enough to feel like you're part of a family while there. Ideal location, clean, extra bathrooms, free yummy coffee all day- you won't regret going!

Super chill vibes, amazing kitchen, friendly staff

We stayed 3 nights in two different rooms: two nights in a double (Tucano, 20 USd for two people) and another night in a triple (30 USD for three people). The hostel has great potential, location close to the center and not far from the bus stations (in taxi 15 C per person about 0.5 USD), outdoor garden, shared kitchen, possibility to book tour directly all but unfortunately left quite to itself, the kitchen and common rooms are both interior and very dirty, not by the staff or by some guests (in the morning they were in the garden with plenty of beer and mozzies themselves, in the kitchen with plenty of milk food in the evening,...).

Unused potential

Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a nice courtyard with hammocks, tables and chairs. It's only a few blocks walk from the cathedral and Central Park, and close to a few decent cafes. Only downside was a lukewarm shower.

Friendly hostel in Esteli

I spent a night at Sonati hostel and had a great time with my fellow travelers. I travel with my ukulele and upon entering I found a couple of people picking some tunes on a guitar. The guitar belongs to the hostel and anyone is welcome to use it. We jammed for a few hours. It was a very nice experience that culminated with a deep sleep in one of their dorms. There is free coffee available to guests in the morning and I enjoyed drinking line in their nice garden. 

Clean beds, good vibes

We stayed here in February, and whilst it was initially for two nights we extended for another two nights.  The staff were very helpful and managed to accommodate our changing the number of people/nights in our group with ease.  The one night where they could not help due to no space the staff went out of their way to help us find another hostel.  I can not praise the Sonati Hostel enough and next time I am in Estelli I will be making another booking.

Amazing service in a wonderful place

We stayed in a reasonably priced dorm room for 2 nights and it was great.  Nice communal space, a fully stocked and clean kitchen for guest use.  But above all, the staff was so friendly and spoke really good English.
We had to deal with an injury and attend the hospital, the front desk girl (I wish I had gotten her name) helped us to translate a note into Spanish to show the doctors and gave us directions.  This made a stressful day that much easier.

Great hostel, super helpful staff!

Excellent price ratio: $6 a night in the dorm room - Coffee at will all morning. Two toilets available and a shower. Hot water if you are in the first one. Bedroom 8 beds. Large kitchen available and very well equipped. H24 reception and nice staff. Common room with garden and hammocks... Wifi that works from all over the hotel. A small balcony, very bad soundproofing in the dorm room by the side of the road.

Nothing to blame.

Well located not far from the bus station, clean, large kitchen, very kind and friendly staff and smiling.

Very good hostel.

We are 3. We slept in a dormitory on the 4th floor. The hostel is well situated, close to the main square. It is clean and the staff is welcoming. Knowing that it is an association, there are many foreign volunteers working there (English, German...). There is a very good atmosphere. Positive point: location, reception, cleanliness, kitchen, washing machine, nice patio, free coffee, information about what to do in the vicinity, possibility of a guide. Negative point: noisy street, kitchen a little and not enough cover, hot water a little too warm and there is a lack of drainage of water.

Very good stay.

The Tucano room was tiny. The balcony overlooked the lobby of the reception. The private bathroom was tiny and smelled of rotting (disgusting). We received only one towel. The second one we had to buy. The common areas are beautiful and spacious. The functional kitchen and laundry facilities are the only positive points.
