Booked for 1 night on our way to Wellington. Friendly welcome, food in the evening and for breakfast was of a reasonable standard. Room was basic but sufficed for 1 night. A fair walk from the town (hence why we ate in the hotel). Also note this hotel is next to the railway but we didn't see / hear more than one train in the time we were there.

Good if basic accommodation

Located near Wanganui Collegiate this hotel is not in walking distance to CBD but there is a cafe on corner. Room was booked for 3 persons but there was only towels and cups for two.Decor was dated and the cleaning was not up to standard eg dirty oven and glasses.Dust on skirting boards.Only one spare pillow and all pillows were substandard.Fold in half and feel your fingers through other side.
In bathroom there was one tiny soap and tiny bottle shampoo.
Movie channels did not work and we went through all channels.No paper on doorstep in morning.
The courtyard was very nice and the staff that were on at the time were very accommodating.

Accommodating staff

I'm staying at this great lodge for a week for work, I'm finding the perfectly flawless rooms, perfect cleanliness, a great restaurant where I can eat delicious, top-quality meat dishes, of course all very British-style river beer and good local wines.

The incredible land in the middle

Comfy beds, nice rooms, everything you need for a good sleep. A bit strange the milk is communal and outside in the corridor but maybe it's a money saving thing? 
Really friendly staff. Only wish would be better parking but I was there on a reasonably quiet night so no issue for me. Room was really clean and well maintained. Will def stay again.

Good Value

Room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. Parking was a bit tight but all was going well until I went to make a coffee. A sign on the in-room fridge stated 'fresh milk available in the hallway'! About 5 doors down and around the corner I found a fridge with a whole lot of empty glass bottles and a 2ltr of blue top in the door. Unfortunately the bottles are not washed well.
Self service milk? Never seen that before.

Our unit had a bedroom and Lounge room with tv sofa and table and chairs. Also extra single bed. Kitchen had fridge oven microwave and kitchen crockery etc. free wifi. Walking distance to Main Street where there are shops restaurants etc.  staff friendly.  

Comfortable place to stay 

Tonight we went to The Oaks Restaurant for dinner and it was superb. We started with a garlic loaf which was delicious and then the Scotch Fillet with mash and slaw with pepper sauce for me, and hubby had Scotch Fillet with fries and seasonal veg and pepper sauce. Perfection. Then we both had the duo of sorbet with fruit. OMG. That was even better than sliced bread. It was divine. We'll return.

I stayed at this venue for work
The staff are friendly 
The rooms are clean and quite spacious 
The bed was too soft for me but maybe ok for others
The showers lacked power.  The showers in other rooms could clearly be heard in my room.
I will stay again

An ok stay

It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in such a lovely regional motel. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, the rooms clean and well appointed. I also ate in the restaurant on many occasions and I have to say was very impressed with the quality of the meals. They were perhaps a little on the expensive side, but who can complain when they are consistently good. 
Well done Collegiate Quality Inn. 

Fabulous staff

I haven’t stayed at Quality Inn Collegiate for some time however I have to say that this stay was great. The gentleman at reception was fantastic with fast efficient and friendly service for check in. The room was clean and comfortable. The evening meal and breakfast were very nice and again the service was excellent. 
I will certainly be returning.
