We had 4 nights here and loved it.  The hosts were welcoming and helpful.  The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The only downside was there was no power point in the bathroom for the hairdryer. It was an easy 8 minute walk to the town center although it did involve a bit of a hill.

This was the best motel we have ever been to.  We travel a lot!  I read the reviews before booking, and paid the extra for a lakefront view.  It took our breath away!  It was such a beautiful view that it was hard to leave! 
It was a good 12 minute walk to the town centre, and we enjoyed that.
I would go back there any time!

Unbeatable views of the most beautiful lake!

We stayed for a night here (after 3 days' stay in another hotel nearby) during Christmas/ New Year peak season when hotel rooms in Queenstown are so demanding and we were nearly unable to book a room. So when we noticed vacancy at this lodge, we were so delighted and booked without hesitation. 

One needs to walk a bit uphill from the city centre for 15 mins. I find the location fine though. There is a bus stop just in the opposite side of the road where we got a public bus to the airport (15-20 mins ride). 

Our rooms are not facing the lake but right next to the road. We were satisfied as the rooms were clean functional and very spacious.

For eating, seems there are no restaurants nearby although one may go to the hotels around for meals or otherwise make own meals with the microwave or toaster in the room.

Was checking in late. Got clear instructions on arrival. Convenient location (about 15 min walk to town centre)

Fantastic lodge by the wakatipu Lake, big rooms, owner managed lodge, well taken care, highly recommend to stay here for the location, view and service

Great views of the lake. Useful laundry facilities.  Plenty of free parking, 10/15 min walk to lake, shops, restaurants etc

ALERT- BE AWARE OF ”CLOSET” DOOR ENTRANCES TO YOUR ROOM.
I have never written a review on a hotel before and I just have to share our awful awful experience during our stay. We stayed on 11/8/2023-11/9/2023 (which was our one year anniversary).
We woke up on 11/9 and were about to get ready and suddenly this door that we thought was a closet storage door in our room opened and this lady (who was the receptionist) was looking straight at us while my husband and I were in bed. We were SHOCKED and totally speechless. The door that she opened and and came through only had a key lock so we figured it was a utility closet of some sort. I would have neverrrr imagined the workers at this hotel could just enter our room through this door that we didn’t even have the capability of locking. There was no option to lock this door!!!!
She also lingered after apologizing and it felt like she was trying to see what was going on since the door had a direct view of the bed. Thank god we were under blankets because we were not clothed and had she come in even 5 minutes later she would have seen us complete naked. My husband did scream at her to tell her to go away and she finally closed the door. It’s absolutely unbelievable & now we’ve been questioning if someone came into our room while we were gone or even while we were sleeping.
We tried to speak to someone about this while checking out and no one was at the front desk, which was predictable since we were sure they didn’t want to face us and were avoiding the confrontation.
All that to say, don’t stay here, and if you do, make sure you put something in front of any closet utility looking doors in your room to block the staff from creepily barging into your room.

Lovely and clean. Beautiful view of the lake. The staff were very helpful and kind.
