The Kiwi House Hostel is a situated quite a bit out of town, it‘s placed on quite a large parcel of land, secure parking is provided. The whole place is a bit strange, to get in there you got to go through a hardly visible door on the left side of the surrounding wall, speak through an intercom and then you get access. The reception is only open til 17:00, if you are later, bad luck.
The rooms are pretty small, not very quiet and nondescript, paint peeling of the wall, but clean. Kitchen is well equipped, laundry machines, terrace and a lounge exist. To me it looked like a lot of people were staying there for a longer time, working in CHC. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance. When you check out, you are supposed to take off duvets and covers and bring them to the reception.	
It‘s a cheap place to stay for a few nights, but not a place that really makes you feel at home.

Cheap place, lacking atmosphere

Stayed here for four nights in a dorm, rooms are small but every bed had socket and lamp. WiFi is good and beds are comfy, bathrooms are clean. Provided with locker in kitchen and close to town. Thankyou i would stay here again. 

Cool, chilled friendly hostel 

I really enjoyed my stage stay at the Kiwi house. The staff are very very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the kitchen has hips of equipment. They also have a lot of space to do loundrey, a carpark and a cool Tv and living room. I can really recommend you to stay there!

Very good hostel

I enjoyed my stay at Kiwi House. The room was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms and toilets were clean as well. I just stayed for a night but it was an awesome experience. I will surely come for a longer stay in future. Best stay at good price. 

  Clean and comfortable room

The staff at Kiwi House were extremely helpful and very friendly during my stay here. Erika in particular went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The hostel is clean, tidy, quiet and met really nice people.

It is a small accommodation on the outskirts of Christchurch.It is very well organized, with good beds and very good atmosphere.We stayed here for three nights to catch a bus to the region of Akaroa and Kaikoura and is about 30 minutes' walk from the centre.They also offer airport service.The best was undoubtedly the treatment and sympathy of their staff.

Buen albergue is also available.

Kiwi House has two hostels. We were staying in Hereford Street. The rooms are simple furnished. One floor bed, a commode, a small shelf. Shower, toilet and laundry room for everyone in the hallway. Community kitchen, TV room, washing machine. The whole facility is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We also had a free parking space. Wi-Fi is free. We paid NZD 72 for the night in the double room. Our room was on the street and was very loud in the morning.

Okay for two nights.

The hostel is relatively nice. After it happens to have cold showers, the dorms look like rabbit cages and the photos on TripAdvisor are still pretty fake.

Pass it on.

We had a double room for $30 a night. Hostel central. It was very clean. Kitchen was well equipped and big. Plus locking cabinets in the kitchen. The only downside was parking on the street.

Price performance very good!

To highlight the attention of the staff! when we left, we were very kindly taken to the bus terminal. they usually accommodate young people for long periods of time so it looks like a big house with a big family. while the rooms are small and do not seem to have enough showers and bathrooms, everything is impeccable, new and extremely clean. positive: complete kitchen and wifi!
