When we arrived, the two houses were not cleaned, the terraces were dirty and the lounge layers were not usable because they were full of the rain water of the night before. WiFi was not found, the information folder was outdated. The outdoor areas consisted of gutters and unfinished holiday houses, unfortunately not inviting. On one terrace there are tents and camping cars directly behind a tent, without protection of sight or other privacy, in the evening without disturbing others, impossible. Light in the bathroom and on the terrace was not to be turned off, the owner could not help either. A bedroom was always lit by light. There are no good darkenings in the front rooms, the bedrooms can sleep in the closet. Unfortunately, there was no room to be used at all. Unfortunately, there was no room to be used, except on the rooftop. If you want to stay on the rooftop, there was no room to be cleaned.

You have a basic Park next to  acanal practically across the road, ashort wlak into town ,dom tower and the station not far away
There is also a very good railway musuem a short walk away
We were served bread,a boiled egg and coffee for breakfast.. a bit basic for my liking.
But a good location, nice room and the shower is available with a token per day provided with a 10 minute time limit.
I would stay here again but a bit better breakfast be nice, 

A lovely local stay 

I find it hard to imagine that in 2019 there are still hotels with shared bathrooms and time-locked showers. Given the age of the structure, it looks far from clean, but fortunately there is a minimum of care. The manager is available: he does everything, from breakfast to reception. Acceptable for one night, but no more.

Paradoxical

the owner has never answered to all our questions about the house and city.
We really felt not welcome.
uncomfortable and dirty bed.
In front of the bed there is only a bathtub and a sink without any walls to separate the two zone.
the worst thing is that the bathroom is situated outside the room and shared with the owner and staff office and everyone can access and use it as they like it. The bathroom is really small and uncomfortable.
We had problems with our luggage because There is not a luggage room to put it and the owner didn’t help us to find a solution and she was really annoyed about our request.

Bad welcome 

The Domstad Hotel was a great discovery! Clean and spacious room, especially cheap, the bathroom is common, but still very clean. What should not be underestimated: the owner is very kind and available.

Nice surprise.

I was there just for one night and had to leave early in the morning. The hotel is perfectly settled in the heart of Utrecht but in a quiet area, so you are not bother with the noise. The room was perfect for one night stay. But the best was the attention of the owner. All the time smiling, super sweet. I will for sure recommend this hotel.

Perfect staying

Positive: The location of the apartment and the view of the canal. Well equipped kitchen and nice floor. I had the wrong reservation and since the apartment was empty the lady first tried to tell me that it was written in a small letter to guarantee my anger (I also read the parts in the SOLO) she showed me that they cancelled my reservation before the booking... because I thought that the booking door was moved to the bathroom because I had not seen anyone who wanted to escape to my bathroom and then I could not use the bathroom.

It's a great home hotel. The owner puts his whole heart into it and tries to please the guests. The hotel is not new, but everything is maintained in good condition. The rooms are spacious, warm, quiet and nice. The breakfast is delicious! The good coffee that Ted will bring again when he sees that the cup is empty, butter, cheese, breadcrumbs, egg. The rooms are great for WiFi. The shower is on the floor, but it's always clean. One of the features is hot shower chips. Two chips for 15 minutes per person. But the room is budget, and the water is expensive, so that's understandable.

This is a beautiful home hotel.

I rang the bell to ask what the price was and while I was continuing the sentence, the receptionist interrupted me and said "on the window!". As I was continuing to ask if the price would be different in case of... Then he said "If you're going to do like that..." and closed the door on my face (!).
First time this happened to me.
The receptionist (or owner, by the look of the place) looks dyed blond with blue eyes, mid fifties. If you see him run away!!!

Excellent value for money in Utrecht, this accommodation was in a really great location and very clean and welcoming.  Sharing bathroom seemed to work well also.  House and garden well cared for and host always welcoming and helpful.  A great find
