ibis Amsterdam Centre

We stayed here for 6 nights, and honestly were amazed with our decision and the hotel service! The rooms are on the smaller side, although the staff made sure to give us their best room given our longer stay (greatly appreciated their effort and a nice view we had from the room). The bed was very comfortable, bathroom nice and shower decent size. The room had everything we needed, but it's worth noting that windows do not fully open in this hotel (due to its location at the train station) so you'll only get a crack of fresh air coming through. Nonetheless, we kept the window opened that way 24/7 and the room was nicely aired out at all times. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, even offered us an additional fan if we wanted to use, given the hot summer weather we encountered. You won't hear the noise of the trains even with the cracked open window, if staying on a higher floor (we were on the 6th of 9 floors, facing the train station). Location of the hotel is superb - right in the center of the city, and right next to the Centraal station! Literal 5 min walking distance to Dam Square, Red Light district and 25 min walk to Rijks Museum. Very very convenient if you plan on traveling anywhere outside of Amsterdam, we took several day trips with trains and buses so the location was perfect to easily catch the transportation in 5 min. Breakfast was fantastic, and honestly quite impressive! We had breakfast every single day, there were plenty of options of savory and sweet food, as well as hot & cold drinks to not get bored by it. The food was delicious and freshly prepared all the way until breakfast closing time. No stale croissants if you come later, always fresh - which was wonderful to see. The staff is one of the best we've encountered in many hotels we stayed in, always smiling, kind, friendly and helpful! They seem to be enjoying their job there, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. Special thanks to Imam, Jean and the Spanish receptionist from Malaga (sorry, forgot his name) for their help and great conversations! Thanks Ibis, we're surely meet again!
