In 2013 I had spent approximately two months at Hilltake.  It was delightful then and still is. They have upgraded the rooms and added another restaurant where we had probably the best Punjabi Thali we have had in our lives. The food was absolutely excellent. Unfortunately, the spa part of the facility is down due to the earthquake in 2015. I'm looking forward to when it opens up again. The people there remembered me and we received a very warm welcome. Five years ago the Shiva statue was just beginning to become known in Nepal and while we were there this time it was full of both Nepali and  Indian Hindus happy to be visiting the well-known statue.  The facilities are centrally located and quite convenient for visiting monasteries and other scenic parts of Nepal a very short drive away. I can recommend it highly and I definitely would stay there again.  The only complaint I had is that the Internet had its moments, but this is Nepal and to be expected.

The Place to Ourselves

The restaurant outside " Punjabi by Nature/Halka Fulka" was very disappointing. We sat outside for half an hour but nobody was there to take order. Then we had to go inside and order at counter. They took 30 mins to serve 3 cups of coffee. While drinking coffee cockroach was found while i nearly swallowed. We called the waiter, they were not ready to admit and was arguing that cockroach was not in the coffee. Height of carelessness.

The place is stuauted at a comfortable distance from the capital. It has panaromic view of the city. Also claimed, the world's highest Shiva statue rests here. Currently its under renovation due to earthquake damages. The service was disappointing though. 
Definitely worth a visit after completion of the renovation project while you're in the city. 

Worth a vist

Not worth the money.. Too expensive for such kind of hotel

Was stay in last year  August 2015.Nice view  in Sanga village  and Tallest Statue of Lord Shiva.very clean area of Hotel .Running well hot water . staffs were friendly. over all nice property can recommend .

Good Hotel

This property is good, centrally located & combination of various facilities. But, We found room services and staffs in front office are not very professional.

Where as the Statue of Lord Shiva & Spa service is impressive.
Hope, upcoming chain management upgrade this establishment a new height.

An Option For Outdoor

If the idea is to visit the Kathmandu valley by city, then this place in Bhaktapur is a good option. It offers good service. Good location and allows you to know the city that takes a long time to walk around and sit down quizzes, taking a drink in one of the little boats that are located in very old houses or some well-equipped temple.

A good option in Bhaktapur.

On the phone he tells us that the cottage is over the mountains and very quiet.... on arrival we open the windows on a concrete slab and the workers make houses... the spa closed for work is presented to us as the last cry (last cry of death) dirty and empty pools giving no desire to relax...the price announced by tripavisor was 39€ a night and the sales manager offers it to us at 180€ and tells us that he makes us a flower.... after two hours of driving and a lot of heat we left disappointed in this hotel that I believe should not see the world....didn't advise...

I think we should just abstract from the work...

they do their best within their limitations. There is a lot of scope for improvement, management, coordination of all kind.The place is fully vegetarian, I asked for three days can I not have an egg for breakfast; than I found out there is not a single egg on the premises. However you book including breakfast, but nothing is mentioned about this.The reality of a country like Nepal however romantic it may appear from the outside is one of political instability, poverty and hard life for most of the people. The infrastructure is under development a lot of streets are still mud and when it rains the place turns dark and muddy and everyone disappears, the buses included. Within an environment like that you cannot expect the same hotel services as in a developed country I suppose. So comparatively to its environment it is doing ok and its a 3 for the effort from me, but do not even start to compare it to a hotel in the far east or west
