Walvis Bay

Rooms very neat and kept clean. Well located and situated in Walvis Bay. Very cozy and I felt I was at my home. Friendly staff. The rooms is well equipped and laid out. The breakfast was very tasteful and nutritious.  Enjoyed my stay at 22 On Main

Unfortunately I can’t agree with all the exceptional reviews of this guesthouse. The owners were on holiday in SA when we stayed there and no alternative nrs were provided. We waited 40minutes to check in. When we enquired about breakfast we were advised to rather have breakfast in town. The decor of the rooms are beautiful, but our room was dusty. The hostess thought it would be only one guest whereas our confirmation clearly stated 2 guests. There are plenty of cats on the property who climbs onto your bed if the balcony door is open. Parking is not sufficient when the guesthouse is full. Another guest complained that snacks they had left in their room were eaten in their room during the day while they were out. The stairs to the rooms are quite steep and made from deck wood and not advisable if you have back problems or trouble climbing stairs. The water turns cold if a second person showers and the water pressure is poor.

We spent a very good night in this guest house which was very refreshing in the middle of our nights in tent. 
The hosts are welcoming and accommodating, their room comfortable and well-decorated. 
In addition, if you like animals, the dogs and cats are happy to welcome you, as well as carp. If that's not your thing, they stay very quiet at home.

We spent a night here as a stop-over and it was well worth it. Our hosts effortlessly rearranged a room for me, as I struggle with stairs. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We even had a massive fish and chips dinner, which was delicious, from their restaurant (eaten in our room). 
We had a lon  road ahead of us and we're so glad we ordered the breakfast. What a spread! We'd been on the road about a week so having fruit and fresh bread was a real treat.

Excellent rooms, excellent breakfast

I will certainly come back for their hospitality. Great people and gentle souls. The breakfast was spectacular and the garden was beautiful. However,  I will come with my own bar of soap and shampoo. I left the windows open all night to air out the dampness. What a great stay. Thank you.

Great Hospitality 

In the middle of this tent road trip, we decided to spend a few nights in hard in Walwis Bay and we opted for the guesthouse Spindrift...Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. Let's start with the positive: the location is perfect, we can walk to the Lagoon, go to dinner, walk to the start of activities... Another positive point the owners are nice, overcrowded, but nice. Finally the PDJ is right level quantity. As far as we are concerned the positive stops there unfortunately. Because the whole thing is cruelly lacking in maintenance: the garden has potential but do you want to settle in a nice little terrace full of dirt and bathroom that doesn't have a lot of dirt?

For small budgets...

What to say about Spindrift..... is very difficult. I want to be open and honest towards my fellow travelers but also not let wonderful couple down...... . Here we go. Guesthouse has an old theme to it. Old wooden furniture fro the very early 90 awaits you in the room. I love old things and it makes it homey and warm.... but some of the drawers handles are missing an doors doesn’t close anymore and so on. I got no complimentary shampoo or shower gel..... not even an bar of soup or air freshener in the toilet. The garden is nice..... keep in mind that this is dessert country. But no maintenance is done pool is green braai area is dusty an dirty and dead leaves every where. At the breakfast table you are greeted very friendly service from your host and you feel at home with your farther or grandfather just chatting away. Lovely warm Namib people. ...... so please stay at Spindrift for the people. Not for luxury. I loved it.

It's a warm house, a perfect room and a delicious little deck. We recommend it warmly. Room 7 is top, pool side, no traffic noise. The internet works well.

Cees and Liz are wonderfull people. They will help you with anything. Definitely a great place to stay. Superb. 
Breakfast is good. Rooms and garden are lovely. Great value for money. Close to the harbour.

Feels like home!

my room  was  upstairs  and   had  no  heater /fan, was  very  cold.if you ask for  heater  they  will  tell ' you have to  pay  for  it.the staff  act like  they  are in their  bedroom sleepin' .poor  service.nice view of  guest  house.no   pick up  at  airport  but very  far  from  airport, they promise  to  transport you in  and out  of airport  but last day they will ask  you to pay the shuttle.
