I stayed at Shennoon's for several nights and was pleased with my stay.  Their place is clean and comfortable, and aside from a major power outage the first night (there was a huge storm...literally 1-2 feet of water flowing through the streets as I arrived) and some issues with their generator which they resolved, I was very happy staying there.  

Breakfast was simple, but good and Shennoon was amenable to the requests I made.  The location is a bit tough to find, and I'm not sure it would be great for tourists.  There isn't a whole lot around, but Shennoon and her staff will help you with taxis, so it isn't too hard to get to different places.  I was working north of town and being downtown would have been quite difficult for me, with the traffic.  So the location suited me pretty well.

Overall, I would recommend this guesthouse to a friend with no reservations.

Like a homestay

It's a small, beautiful guesthouse in a very quiet location and yet only a few steps away from Insein Road. It's a 15-minute walk from Inya Lake. We were greeted very kindly with a welcome drink and a fine-smelling cloth. The staff speaks very good English and is very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean, there is a warm shower. Bed linen smells fine like never before in this month in Myanmar. The breakfast is very generous and very fine, once again real bread, without caramel flavor and a very fine yogurt with mustard sauce... We would stay in this guesthouse again at a very good price.

Glorious guesthouse

I spend quite a lot time in searching for the right place of our 3 nights Yangon visit. Generally the price level for ALL hotels is high due to the increasing demand and limited availabilty. 

Compared to Bangkok expect to pay double for same standards (if available? I have my doubts)

We decided to take this place because of the following reasons:
- rates are on the lower level compared to similar guesthouses in same area (value!)

- the area is residential and hidden behind some higher houses which keeps the main street noise away (silence!) 

- in order to experience the real Yangon we wanted to be - by purpose - NOT in the area prepared for tourists. I didn't trust the nice pictures of the 4* hotels which charge 120 USD and we didn't want to stay in noisy and bustling city center

If you searching for a quiet no frills clean room with very warm and personal help of very motivated young team with excellent English skills you should come here. 

Of course this is (still) just a guesthouse not a (4*) hotel - so don't expect any kind of luxury. However we enjoyed the hospitality of Shennoon and team. 

Highly recommended for couple of days!!

Restaurants in walking distance:
- draught beer at the corner Khan-Rd/Main street direction downtown (South) 10mins
- opposite streetside a bit more down south there is a excellent Teashop always full (very cheap rice dishes) 15min
- bit more far but walkable: Khaing Khaing Kyaw (huge choice but no alcohol) 25mins or taxi (close to Inya Lake, hidden behind offices)

if you look for value, quiet and far from tourist businesses come here

Stayed here for only two nights, but felt at home from the moment I stepped in. Service was amazing, I was overwhelmed with all the greetings and personal care from the staffs. Shennoon and other staffs are very helpful and friendly  and gave me lots of local advice for my days in Yangon.
Shennoon's House is not very far from the airport and such a nice place to stay in a safe and quiet location.Very easy to hire the taxi to the town for only $4. But  traffic is such a major drawbacks to get to anywhere in Yangon.
My room is just lovely, very clean,spotless and  all facilities are excellent. Wifi is fast enough for Yangon.
Breakfast was served in an unforgettable way and there is a choice of toast, egg, fruits or home cooked local breakfast. Overall, my favorite is Shan Noodle.
It is worth of money and I definitely recommend this place and will come back for sure.

Simply Lovely

The hostel meets the reviews of most of the members here. It is clean, there is a delicious breakfast and the people here are very friendly and helpful. Especially when booking the next trip. The location is a little far from the center, but very quiet and with the taxi you can get to all the important sights for 4,000 k fast. It takes a bit of getting used to the shower. It is practically right in the room with the bathroom.

Hostel friendly

A great place to stay. Sai Nyi Nyi and Shen Noon looked after us well despite that we arrived a little late in the night. I would definitely recommend it to other business travellers and would be happy to stay there again.

Everything worked

The hosts are lovely here. Especially since we had been sick and they were kind enough to look after us with coconut water. The place is not what one would call cosy, but it's clean & a good standard accommodation for Yangon.

Lovely hosts, pretty good accommodation

The distance from the centre is compensated by the kindness of the owner couple. Very available regardless of arrival or departure time (arrival at 5am and departure at 6am). Good advice for restaurants near the hotel.

Good compromise for transit

A small street of villas, closed and guarded at night. No traffic, quiet and rest guaranteed. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped (frigerator, boiler, 2 bottles of water every day). As has already been said, smiling welcome, good organization for transfers and as many times reported a free breakfast in the courtyard with all the components we want. Distance: Yangon is very wide, no matter where you visit you need a taxi and runs from 3 to 4000 Km every 2 to 3 minutes. To get to the centre it will take you from 30 to 1 hour.

Service, calmness, kindness compensate for his distance

A small guesthouse is halfway between the airport and the city centre. The staff is particularly welcoming and cautious. The place is quiet and looks much healthier than in the center of Yangon. The bedding is good (and smells good), the rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast is good (the traditional is even delicious) You can walk around and eat nearby or you have to take a taxi (cheap and fast... If it doesn't fit you in a cage). Keep the hotel visit card (or at least the number of such), the return taxi may need it.
