Nothing of the above turned out to be compromised, the room was not quiet even though it was attached to the wall, the bathroom full of sand of a previous guest, the TV was completely absent, in the morning we discovered that there was no hot water even if the hostess left it running for ten minutes, the apology the other room does not complain..... The insistence on charging our arrival on the days reserved for me alert, we left after the first night refusing to pay the reservation fee, equivalent to a luxury Riad in Meknez/Fez, without that seeming to surprise neither the hostess nor the German owner as I was told.

We said with this apartment by Airbnb and the truth that when we entered we marveled at the decoration and the views, the very friendly staff and the super powerful wifi.But from our experience we believe that we must take into account a couple of things: The smell and humidity was too much and the atmosphere was very crowded, the bed was very deep in the center; I slept very well, but my couple didn't sleep all night.The last thing is that the cleanliness of our room was not like the other comments, rather scarce.

It's all right, but...

You can't go to Essaouira without staying in this establishment. Just sublime, an exceptional view, in close tranquility despite all the amenities and quality service. Very clean riad. This is the fourth time we rented in this riad and we are never disappointed. We slept in all the rooms offered, all as clean as the others.

Exceptionally

We were on the 4th floor, accessible by a narrow staircase with a balcony, not recommended for the elderly, but once we arrived, it was a grand spectacle that presented itself to you from your private terrace with a panoramic sea view of the fishing port and the ramparts with the scales and bastions. Spacious and comfortable apartment with TV and excellent firm mattress. The shower needs to be renovated. Very good breakfast, plenty. Very bright and quiet apart from the sound of the waves that eventually sleeps.

A magnificent view of our little suite on the roof

I loved the place for its amazing sea view. My apartment was on the 4th floor, with a large terrace overlooking the sea. It was worth going up the narrow staircase which could be better lighted at night. The staff was welcoming. The breakfast was simple but of good quality. The apartment was spacious and the bed very confortable.
I don't recommend the first floor apartment which is a duplex but is quite dark and above the cafe. They don't clean the apartment on a daily basis. Excellent value for the rate and perfectly located.

An amazing sea view

Just an amazing view. Worth every penny and every step.
We stayed, over new year, in the third floor apartment. The firth floor one us smaller but has a balcony. The third floor one is bigger, has two big windows which open and almost makes a balcony.
There us a small kitchen area and a movable gas heater.
The views are amazing, just like the pictures.
It is 66 steps up to the third floor, and you can smell smoke (from the bar) on the stairs, but not in the apartments.
Good breakfast, lovely owners and, for what you get, really quite cheap.
I've been to over 100 countries, this is one of the best views I've ever had.
Stay here, you will not regret it.

Amazing

A quiet place, kindness from the bosses, clean, mini kitchen that allows you to relax in the room with a sunset view.

It's a lovely view, lovely room

We stayed in the top suite and walking up those stairs several times a day carrying a toddler was still worth it - the view is amazing! The tide is very dramatic and offers a variety of scenes that play out 5 stories below you: fishermen diving and dragging bags and bags of stuff out of the sea, waves crashing or lapping at the rocks below, couples exploring the exposed rocks at low tide and many seagulls flying at the same level as your windows. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was great and even included omelettes and strong cappuccinos, the accommodations were very spacious (except for the bathroom but that is minor) and we loved having a little burner stove to boil water for tea, eggs or a quick soup when a few of us were not feeling well.
We parked our rental car behind the bigger parking lot, a smaller privately owned venture. It was 100 MAD for 2 days and gave us in and out privileges. The gentleman that assisted with carting our bags from there to the hotel wasn't such a good deal but he took as around the block to make the way seem longer (not accommodation affiliated but may be helpful all the same).

Unparalleled view and welcoming hospitality

We stayed nearly a week in the top room with the balcony, (the photos do not do this justice), it was absolutely amazing sitting there each evening and/or afternoon, watching the birds, ocean, and sun go down. It is true that there are many stairs to climb but not impossible,(unless you have mobility issues, (we are 60 and did it easily). They help you with the luggage both up and down. Previous people have said you can smell smoke from downstairs, we smelt non and think it would only be possibly on the floor directly above the cafe. Also, we saw all the rooms and the room that is mentioned in a previous review saying it has no windows, does in fact but there is no view - they face the city wall, this is the room directly above the cafe. This was one of the best accommodation I have stayed at and I have travelled the world, the only down side was that there was a smell from the drains in the bathrooms.

Amazing hidden Gem

The Riad Dar Ayour is one of the most beautiful. It is located on the edge of the medina at the wall itself. From the windows you can see the Atlantic Ocean. The entrance is through the billiard room and the café, where it is crowded and noisy at night, but the guests of the riad have their own entrance and key to the razor-shaped lattice that goes directly to the wall of the medina. The room is striking with the razor-shaped carving of the walls and ceiling, the colored windows of the French windows, the forged furniture, the sewn pillows on the sofas, the colored stones of the tablecloths. Behind the ocean is noisy, but the two bars help. There is excellent Wi-Fi.
