The hotel is located two blocks from the parish, the bed is very comfortable to get to rest after a tour of the city, it is perfect if what you are looking for is a single place to sleep and relax, although the room is a little small, it meets the needs.

The Good: The Hotel Casa Loteria is located in el centro of San Miguel de Allende, close to everything including dozens of wonderful restaurants. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My first room on the second floor was good, but the second room that I was asked to move to had a large public rooftop terraza perfect for enjoying a glass of wine at sunset.

The Bad: The neighbourhood is unfortunately very noisy during the Christmas holiday season with loud music and plenty of fireworks. Many bars and restaurants are open until 4:00 in the morning pumping out loud music and the sounds of their patrons enjoying their celebrations. It's an amazing time of year to be in San Miguel de Allende, but not so close to the main square.

The Quirky: At Hotel Casa Loteria there are 19 skinny spiral stairs (and no elevator) leading to the second floor were I was located for the first night. Then at 5:00 p.m. of the following day, I was asked to move upstairs to the kitchenette - and there are nineteen more stairs to where my next room was located. At age 69, stairs wouldn't normally bother me but I was in the process of relocating to San Miguel de Allende to live and had my short-legged dog with me, plus three extremely heavy suitcases. There was no one available to help me move the suitcases from the second floor to the third floor, so I proceeded to take 9 or 10 trips from one room to the other to move my stuff. My new bigger room was located right beside the hotel laundry facilities which typically didn't stop operations until 11:00 p.m. or later. Plus four or five trips a day up and down 38 stairs became painful for my knees.

The Annoying: I was originally booked from December 23rd to January 6th, but on December 31st, New Year's Eve, I was able to move a few blocks further away from the square where the all-night celebration was scheduled to take place. I gave the staff plenty of notice that I would be leaving in the afternoon of December 31st. Two of the young ladies helped me lug the three heavy suitcases from the top floor to the bottom and arranged a taxi for me. In my rush to clear out of the room so that they could re-sell it for New Year's Eve, I forgot to remind them to give me a refund for the remaining 6 nights.

Today is January 10th 2020 - and the hotel management refuses to answer my emails requesting a refund.

The Good. The Bad. The Quirky. And The Annoying.

The worst experience! too rustic, the price is expensive for the rooms they offer. we pay two rooms in advance: one on the top floor and one on the ground floor. it's well located, that's the only good thing. the bad, for the rooms on the second floor, you have to climb up a spiral staircase nothing comfortable and obvious, no elevator. all the rooms on the ground floor are on the patio and there is a smoking zone so everything is set in the room and everything is heard on the patio: whoever is in the hotel room, those who get mad or are in the room playing or plagued. we have to get to the room that gives the room and it is closed. the incodes, there is no room where there is no room. there is no room to put any more clothes or things in the room, but the hotel has no room to keep everything, because the hotel has no room to keep everything, but the hotel has no room to keep everything, because the hotel has no room to keep everything.

The hotel is very rustic, for the price it has, unfortunately the rooms assigned to us were not what we had seen in the photographs. Our room El Árbol had no closet, only a few tubes of approximately 50cm of space to hang coats and clothes, only 2 buros, the king's bed without a head, and no safety box. The bathroom with a plastic curtain and no cost to put on the shampoo, conditioner, sponges, soap etc. The other room El Pájaro had no place to hang it. An excellent place!! Surely all the comforts required to spend an incredible weekend, beautiful facilities and very good theme, the room of la Rosa enchanted me Thank you to the receptionist Vianey for her attention 🙏🏻

These days in San Miguel enjoy at the Hotel Casa Lotería. Enjoy a good breakfast  and the best of its location, just a few steps from the center. Super recommended😍. Come and enjoy a weekend at Hotel Casa Loteria.

It's fair, for what you need to come to San Miguel! Nothing ostentatious but Perfect! Very pretty, typical, super centric, super good service! Clean and at a very good price! It's an excellent choice! The sheets taste delicious, quiet.

I chose this hotel because it is just walking distance to the centre of this quaint town, the rooms and hotel grounds are also quaint, plus I have my own balcony viewing the main street below.

The taxi knew where it is so it wasn't difficult for me to find it. Checking in was a breeze even if the receptionist the night I arrived does not speak English. I walked only going to the Luna Rooftop of Rosewood hotel to have my first dinner in SMA with a stunning view of the the town.

I got very ill during my stay, perhaps because of the cold and I am a bit tired already as this is the last leg of my 1-month holiday. I stayed inside my room most of the time but it was difficult for a solo traveller that you cannot even call the reception for some help with medicine or buying your food. These are the times when I wished I just stayed in a fancy hotel.

It is very central that I just walked to everywhere around this town, so location wise, it was perfect.
