Arriving at the hostel we received very kindly invited us to a café, they pointed us to where to go and gave us recommendations of places, on the other hand very kindly the lady and her son. On the other hand our stay was of two nights, we touched the room 17 had 2 beds a single and a maternal y a cual irle, the maternal was fatal colchón muy viejo y rechinaba terrible, the individual uncomfortable, old, las colchas feas y viejas, but we were calm and it was economical besides it has a very good location as it is close to the market, the language of crafts and the main square.

Dueños amables, pero feas rooms

We stayed only 1 night at hostal Ruta Chiapas. It was just okey. A bit old, cold, small room. We paid 250pesos for a dbl room. Very nice and helpfull owner lady. Nice and colorful patio full of plants. 

Ok for 1 night

Really did not feel comfortable here. They don't provide loo roll which isn't a crime but a heads up to get some when we checked in would have been nice! The kitchen was quite dirty and we decided to not cook in it because of this. For some reason there were rotten bananas in the oven?!? The room was OK, but bin was not emptied from previous occupants and floor was dirty. Main reason we left after one night was because when we woke up we felt all of our clothes were damp. The common area is very pretty and I love the pets.. I think a small few improvements (loo roll) and a thorough clean could go a long way to making this place great as it is visually very cool! 

Not great 

We stayed 3 nights in the hostel. The owner was really nice to us, she cared a lot for my girlfriend who had problems with her stomach.
The equipment and the facilities are a little bit old but it's OK for the low price.
It is close to the center and we would recommend it.

Nice and cheap

The hostel could have been made into a candy bar, but the owners didn't need it. They were greeted unwelcome. Room 16 was nice, because its window looked out onto a small open porch, not a passage like the other rooms. The beds were awfully uncomfortable - in the two-bedroom room we had a two-story bed with a double bed downstairs and a single bed upstairs, plus another one bed. The mattresses were sold, the bedding was worn and in the holes. The hole in our bed in 3 nights turned into a hole, and the hostess wanted a shower, but the offer to go to the room and show her a hole in two other beds where we didn't have to talk about her, plus another one bed.
