Very clean place both in the room and in the bathroom. 
The service is nice.
The patio is a bit pittoresque.
Wifi is good. You have a efficient ceiling fan over the bed.
Location is very good too.
It's a great budget hôtel !!

I stayed at this small hotel for 4 nights in December of 2011.  For me, it was turned out to be a very pleasant place to spend some days in Cuernavaca.  The previous review of this hotel, with the link to Tourbymexico.com, is what drew me to Hotel Colonial.  The room I stayed in solo, was small but clean.  The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night, even on the weekend.  The staff was very friendly and courteous.  All the major sites are within easy walking.  I will stay here again if I ever get a chance to get back to Cuernavaca.

We stayed at the Colonial in Cuernavaca back in November of '08 but it has just now appeared on Trip Advisor. We were looking for an inexpensive but neat and clean place that was walkable to the main sites in town. The Colonial was just what we wanted. Not much luxury or many extras but it was affordable, clean enough, quiet, colorful with typical Mexican type colors, and only a few minutes from both the main squares in the center of town and things like the Cathedral, Brady Museum, and the famous Cortez fortress home that is now a great museum. It's even closer to busy Morelos street with its shops, restaurants, and even a large grocery store. We found the Colonial on the Tourbymexico.com website and you can see three photos of it there and also make a reservation. The hotel does not have its own website. We stayed for five nights and the room was 280 pesos back then. We had one double bed, a clothes closet, private bathroom, TV, plus a large window on the cute courtyard. For some extra pesos we could have had a room with two double beds which would mean more room. No one spoke any English but we did OK with our basic Spanish and the workers were always friendly. The hotel has only 14 rooms and was on two floors. Most of the rooms were on a courtyard. Perhaps only two rooms were actually on the street and it was not a busy one which resulted in the place being quiet. You could sit in the courtyard if you had downtime and did not want to be in your room. The hotel had free drinking water and sold soft drinks and candy. The Colonial was not fancy and anyone who is rather fastidious might not find it perfect but it was clean enough. They brought clean sheets and towels and for the low price we thought it was good. There was very limited off street parking. If you are looking for a very affordable place that is limited in services but not grubby then this little hotel is good.
