Valletta

Just returned from an amazing weekend in beautiful Valletta. Stayed in this apartment in the heart of the city, on arrival Thursday evening we couldn’t believe how close we were to everything. The apartment has key pad entrance system which was great for our late arrival. It was spotlessly clean and spacious, as previous review mentioned it is quite dark but that is how the building is so can’t be helped as for the belching neighbour we laughed it off this again has no reflection on the apartment and you could just as easily had him staying in your hotel. Sam the agent was fantastic had regular correspondence and always quick to reply. 

One thing to note we had a cab pick us up from the airport which was great costing €20 however we returned via bus costing €1.50 each and took the same amount of time. Knowing how close the apartment is to the bus station if we do return we would use the bus both ways. 

City break in Valletta 

The first floor apartment is ideally situated near to the centre of Valletta with its historical and cultural interest, shops, restaurants and transport links. Having said that, the apartment enjoys very little daylight with windows overlooking an inner courtyard and the side of a lift shaft. It was good to have key codes sent in advance so that arrival time was not a concern.  However the disadvantage of not being met on arrival was that we could not identify things that were wrong or ask how things worked.  Two of the four ceiling lights in the living area did not work so we could not see even to read on the first evening. The apartment was very cold and one of the two portable heaters provided (when we got it working) threw out very little heat.  Cleaning had been done superficially and there were long black hairs left on the floor.  The fittings were somewhat rickety and some basic kitchen utensils (such as a wooden spoon) were not  provided. There was however a welcome courtesy tray. The really unpleasant aspect was the noise of the neighbours who were frequently shouting at each other.  One gentleman clearly had no manners at all and we regularly heard extremely loud belching, and on the first night, he decided to entertain us by singing in the early hours. 

The hosts were friendly and quick to respond to our messages although some of the issues were not dealt with until the next morning which meant that we had a very cold and gloomy first evening and night.

Good location but

Apartment was clean and spacious with good facilities and a great location.  The owner was communicative, helpful & flexible and provided a handy airport transfer service.  Valetta is a beautiful place to stay and to visit, full of history and culture.

Great apartment, perfectly situated to explore Valetta

I have already written about the Maltese part of my June-July trip to Malta and the most varied experiences I have had in the warm night of my visit to the capital of Malta. I told you about some disappointment (a little true) from the capital of Malta, Valletta. And now I would like to tell you about the apartments in which I had to live in Valletta and about a little adventure. I flew to Malta at night and from Lucca I arrived safely (already in the middle of the night) in the warm night of Vata. You went to the illuminated street of the Republic and realized that Valletta was even less than a quarter of the city of Venice and I found the streets to be quite interesting, but at the end of the day I didn't get to the end of my visit to the city of Vata. However, I was so exhausted by the Russian enthusiasm that I continued to enjoy them.
