I've been to many places in Kelantan but this is different for a budget hotel. The Indonesian receptionist is well kept and the room is clean. Many local police nearby as nearer to the BSN and Maybank ATM. Line clear always ! Recommended for backpackers before/after departing Perhentian Island

The cleanest budget hotel in Kota Bharu

We turned up on spec, concerned enough by some of the previous reviews to not book online, but checked out the room (third floor, private bathroom, 55 RM a night) and decided to stay.

The room was well laid out, with a large comfortable bed, a hanging and storage unit and a desk level shelf that ran all along one wall.  Air con was good and effective.  The bathroom had a good shower (positioned separately from the toilet and sink).  The room was clean, bedding and towels also good and clean.  

Wifi was only available in the lobby area (occasionally, we could access it from the room).  

Good location near the night market, close to bus station and free water.

Good location, friendly staff, good price

This is a budget hotel, so do not have high expectation. It is like a dormitory but with private room and bath. Free drinking water, including hot water for making tea or coffee that you bring on your own, is in the hotel lobby. 
The staff are very helpful.
Internet is reliable and fast in the lobby, in the room, it can be slow. After 11pm, the Internet appears to be faster. 
Though the room deco, wall and lighting looks a little old, it is well clean.
The hotel is located very closed to some museums and the central market Siti Khadijah. It is also walking distance to Giant super mart and stesen Bus Terminal where bus service 9 goes to the Airport. If you rent a car for local travel, there is car park below the hotel.

Good Location with basement carpark

Stayed in for 2 nights. Greeted by a friendly staff. The room is clean, and spacious for a solo traveler. Have to take up the stairs but, no fuss here. The air con works tremendously. All basic items are prepared (soap, towels and they're all clean). The toilet is clean, great shower (unfortunately no hot shower, and again not a real problem to me) Ample parking space, and hotel is strategically located in the middle of KB (and very very very near to Pasar Siti Khadijah, and close to ATMs, markets, restaurants, mosque, surau, tourist centre)

Economical, Strategic and Comfortable Stay

Short overnight stay here to visit Kota Bharu before getting bus to KL. I'm giving it 4 stars because for 55RM you can't really argue. The room was fine. TV, air con, clean bedding, water. Bathroom could have been cleaner (a problem through SE Asia in budget accommodation). Cold water only. Wifi only works in lobby, and is slow. 24 hour access via side door. Reception staff spoke no English - checked in over the phone to her boss!

Didn't really find much to keep me in Kota Bharu. Perhaps I needed longer. Not sure. A deeply Muslim part of Malaysia.

Overnight stay

We had taken a night in this hotel just to make a stopover before leaving for the Perhentian. For the price and the little we stayed there (just the night) we didn't expect the big class only the one we didn't sleep overnight. The rooms are dirty, ruined! In our very strong smell forced us to change rooms. The dirty sheets and the feeling of scratching didn't allow us to close our eyes... Hotel to avoid
