The moment you step in, you are enchanted with all your senses.  
The team and the owner are veryy welcoming. I loved every minute of it. The food is extremely good and fresh. Most importantly you feel that everyone puts his heart into it. We felt at home.

Cozy , clean , welcoming and amazing food  . Just the right place to visit in winter and summer . 
I highly recommend it to family and friends .
Even if you visit the place solo they make you feel that you are among your family and friends .

If you ever consider visiting Beirut, Villa Clara is the place to be. 
In the heart of authentic Beirut, clean and so heart warming welcoming. Lot of culture and a mix of Lebanese and French one too. I love the place and people who works there.

Having read a couple of articles in quality magazines ... I had to experience it myself on my next visit to Beirut. What those articles did not prepare me for, was that beyond the beautiful surroundings, the wonderful artwork, and the great location in the heart of hip Mar Mikhael district, was the genuine welcome received by the hosts and their team. It really feels like staying with friends, it’s not just a room you are booking it’s a unique experience.
A couple of days before arriving in Beirut I started feeling a bit sick ... Marie Helene was soo supportive and offered all the help as well as asking me if there was anything I needed, wether she could assist me in anything, call a doctor to the hotel .. get me anything from the pharmacy.. you would expect that from a relative or a good friend ... her genuine care was very touching. Thankfully by the time I left I was feeling better and had the opportunity to meet  some other guests and friends of Marie Helene and Olivier ... it was so nice coming “home” in the evening after my long days through Beirut to be greeted by them and join them for a drink or two in that beautiful patio that feels like a bubble of good vibes and were you know you ll meet some very special people. The only problem I had with Villa Clara was the amazing breakfast which left no room for lunch and the fact that the whole place just embraces you and feels so good that I really had to push myself to actually go out and explore the amazing city of Beirut. I could have just spend days lounging on the little balcony or in the patio browsing through art magazines and books lying around whilst sipping on Arabic Coffee ... My only regret not staying longer... Merci a Marie Helene , Olivier and all their lovely team for an amazing stay...A bientôt😉


The only place to stay in Beirut if you’re after authentic charm and the kind of treatment normally reserved for old friends. Villa Clara is not just conveniently located at the creative epicentre of this vibrant city, but itself embodies everything there is to love (there’s a lot!) about this beautifully diverse country through the artistry and interactions within its very walls. Marie-Helene could not have been more welcoming or helpful and her tips/connections are gold-dust. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture of this unique city/country, Villa Clara simply has to be your first port of call.

In Hospitality what make the difference are the People and their generosity ,Villa Clara is All IN ONE.
Forget the standard service ,standard room ,where everybody and everything look the same .
Everymorning you have fresh flowers in your room,on your table ,tasty libanese breakfast. When night comes ,the restaurant becomes "the place to be" ,a cocktail of nice friendly people mixing up hotel guest and owners friends!A family atmosphere!
  And "last but not least" the best Tartare ever "coupé au couteau",knife cut,prepared in front of you by Olivier , Owner and Chef 
What else?

Villa Clara is a phantastic place to stay if you like individuality, style, vintage, colours, fresh flowers, warm interaction with the hosts and guests, and if you are not looking for standard / generic luxury but the luxury of love in the details, of ambience, of generosity. 
The rooms are rather small but nicely decorated, clean, and contemporary art everywhere. There are communal spaces and balconies to hang out, in addition to the lobby and restaurant. They'll give you recommendations for the nice bars, clubs, galleries, museums, shops, places outside Beirut to visit, for food and all. The restaurant of the hotel is amazing. All in all I felt more like visiting friends of friends that have some guest rooms and are happy to host me and with whom you had the chance to get a bit closer during your stay. The best!

Do you love the movie Casablanca? Wish you'd lived in Ernest Hemingway's Paris? Dorothy Parker's New York? Look no further than Villa Clara. It's all of these places, all together, in a city that will move you.

Yes, its interior and exterior will inspire you (ask Marie-Helene about any artwork, object, or design element—not to mention the fresh flowers she brings in twice per week.) And yes, the food and drinks are exceptional (a perfect day starts with Rudy's cappuccino and ends with Olivier's Negroni). But it feels strange calling Villa Clara a "boutique hotel" because it's so much more than all these checkboxes. It has a soul. It breathes. 

Our first night there, Olivier recommended a restaurant and said he'd leave a note for the staff to help us with a reservation in the morning. This was at around 1am, and a few drinks in. I expected him to forget (who wouldn't?!). But the next morning, as soon as we sat down for breakfast, Rudy showed us a hand-written note from Olivier—and asked if we still wanted that reservation. There is no such thing as an empty promise or gesture at Villa Clara.

Throughout our trip in Lebanon, Villa Clara looked after us. When we had a mishap with another hotel near Baalbeck, within five minutes of telling Marie-Helene, she'd contacted a friend's neighboring hotel and found us a room. Unbelievable! Marie-Helene will flood you with recommendations throughout your trip, and you should heed them. She has impeccable taste and a deep love for her city and country.

Villa Clara is not just rare. It's magic. It brings people together in a way that just doesn't happen anywhere else. You will arrive as a stranger in a strange land, and leave as a friend in a place that feels like home.

We loved over all 1) The extremely lovely welcome of Rudi and of the young dedicated woman - who's name we do not know - who is  studying interior design at day and does a perfect restaurant job at night. She deserves all the very best for her life 2) The unique place in your city - this city so much in-between history, war and peace. 3) The excellent cuisine which is completely Rudi's merit - thank you so much, Rudi! 3) The hotel decorated as you do never see it in middle of Europe

Yes, I found Villa Clara absolutely charming and different (in the most positive way) from many other B&B and Hotels.
First the decor and art collection is funky and kinky and buzzy and BohoChic and over the top (again in the most positive way) and put a smile on your face at every moment.
Then the breakfast: sublime and heavenly are two words to describe it. It is generous and varied and the quality worth of a Michelin star (at least).
Then the owners (Olivier and MH) are full of life and passion for this place that is a pleasure just to see them.
So in all this why I gave only 4 star instead of 5 and the answer is...the bedroom! Do not take me wrong the bedroom and bathroom are fine but the bedroom and bathroom hasn’t the same passion of other parts of the house: beautiful art approach you from the ceiling and walls but the bedroom itself could be, according to me, more luxurious.
The size doesn’t matter and doesn’t bother me (perfectly formed as it is) but I can see so many little touches that would make the bedroom feeling luxurious and cosy and...unforgettable! 
Neither to say I will happily return to enjoy this special place.
