I arrived late into Vang Vieng with heavy rain and decided to try this centrally placed hotel on the main street. The room was very basic and was situated on the ground floor with very high ceilings.The location is very central and so handy to the restaurants and bars in town. It would have been tolerable except for the smell from the bathroom. During the night I had to place a t shirt under my nose when visiting the bathroom and then I dry reached. Disgusting really and I was not hungry for the breakfast provided in the morning. However the staff were quite helpful but for $27 AUD it wasn't overly cheap compared to the many other popular guesthouses. Maybe I was unlucky but based on my experience I would not recommend this hotel.

Took My Breath Away

I have visited several countries and never found a hotel that didn't even ask me for a passport to check in, the rooms were literally scary: just getting the mango something untied; entering dirty walls, with holes; the sheets with several dead insects and some running ants; the chilly bathroom, bad smell of the drains, medium shower, tapas of some routing switches as well. Total that both the antiquity and lack of maintenance and cleanliness make it not only necessary to renovate the hotel, pull it out and start one over. In addition, you can access the reception area on the street with personal convenience without any control by any room. The English bathroom, the air conditioner, the air conditioner and the bathroom are practically unbalanced.

Hotel del terror 

The hotel literally provides a shower, toilet, bed, and not much else. The beds were sunken in, shower temperature inconsistent, air conditioner was fixed at 25 degrees and was permanently warm. There was a holder next to the bed for a lamp, but there wasn't even a light bulb. 

Decrepit furniture 

Checked into this hotel under a fixed itinerary so I didn’t have a choice to stay here. I wouldn’t stay here if I had a choice, even with its relatively good location. It’s billed as 3 stars on TripAdvisor but it’s really 2 stars at most. There’s just something about this place that gets under my skin. For one, it’s neither cosy nor luxurious. And the rooms all come with a slew of problems, as observed by me and my friends. Let us begin.

Some rooms smelled like the toilets that are attached to them. We had to Febreze the place ourselves to compensate. The view of the rooms on the first floor, which we got, is an alleyway leading to the main street outside. People walking to and fro outside can simply look into our rooms (I looked into one of my friends’ rooms at night from outside when walking back to the hotel; they didn’t even notice because they couldn’t see us). But at least there is a TV...?

My room’s air conditioner is permanently set to 16 degrees. I’m freezing as I type this. Speaking of which, I waited at least 15 minutes for the blasted heater in the shower to work. No, it did not work. Not a drop of hot water in the mix. Coupled with the temperature of the room, I sure had one hell of a time. The shower gel and shampoos provided are inadequate and I ended up having to wash my hair with shower soap I took from another hotel I stayed at previously. How tragic. Also, the door to my bathroom does not shut properly and needs to be pulled open with extra strength, giving the impression that one might be trapped inside.

Earlier in the day, we noted that the curtains of one of the rooms were literally on the verge of collapse, because the bar that held the curtains up was about to fall off the wall. Of the three points where the bar was supposed to be attached, two were falling out and one was completely missing.  

The fridge turns off when you leave the room because removing the key from the cuts off all power. What in the world is the fridge there for, if it cannot store things when the occupant is away?? It just gets better and better. At this level it just seems atrocious. I’m not giving this one star because I’ve seen worse and that is this place’s only saving grace. 

I think enough has been said for the breakfast and other miscellaneous elements. But to conclude: the answer is no. Never again. 

Just no

Basic hotel. I got a big corner room with big windows on 2 sides. At night, the cold would seep into the room as the curtains were really thin. The hotel was old. The furniture was old. Everything felt old. There was a balcony, and also an attached bath and toilet, hot water took at least 5 minutes to heat up. The cafe was small and could not seat a lot of people. Every day, it was porridge and french bread for breakfast. Location, however, was central. Many eateries around the hotel.

Old basic hotel

This property is quite big and on the main road. everything is walking distance from this place.

Rooms are decent in size but old, Furniture is old and comes with a small balcony. Air Condition is little weak.
Staff is helpful but doesn't understand English so little problem.
Free Breakfast is very basic. Just something to start nothing great.
The price at which this place comes and location is the only thing. You will find better options around.
