the place is dirty, it is very loud till late (partylocation next to the bungalows) and the staff is beyond unfriendly. they just don‘t care if you are there or not. we were the only guest and i do know why. i don‘t think they had visitors for month or years. we left the place after one night and told the manager we’d like to check out. they couldn’t care less. we booked via agoda and asked for a refund but they declined. 
do not book these bungalows and never book via agoda.

most unfriendly place in laos

We had a four night stay at cliff view and were really happy with our choice.  The bungalows are accessed via a wooden footbridge, which puts you in a great spot - two minute walk away from the busy main street, with uninterrupted views across to the mountains.

We were checked in by the friendly owner who directed us to our room.
Our bungalow was a good generous size, with a big comfortable bed, powerful hot shower, quiet A/C and balconies both at the front and rear, so we could enjoy both river and mountain views.

Breakfast was simple but tasty and freshly prepared once we were seated.

We ate a couple of times at the on site BBQ grill, which gets incredibly busy at the weekend and yet still maintains an excellent, speedy service.

The music from the restaurant does get cranked up pretty loud from about 5.30, but is generally turned off by 11pm, so didn't disturb our evening.
Some of the staff don't speak much English, but the hotel is in Laos so I wouldn't expect them to!  We managed to communicate with all the staff just fine and they were all very cheerful.

Overall we had a great stay at cliff view and would recommend it as an option just away from the noise of the centre with the bonus of a peaceful garden and only countryside between you and the mountains, great value too.

Great location with river and mountain views

The location on the other side of the river is great to radiate in and around Vang Vieng. Bungalow proper, with mosquito bed and air conditioning. Too bad the 2 balconies are not equipped with chairs to enjoy the view.

Not bad for Vang Vieng

Nice bungalows, waterproof (it rained a lot), hot water, no storage, no noise except for the chickens from 6:00 a.m. onwards, nice view and large garden, the staff is not hospitable and they don't speak English or French.

Christmas at vang vieng

We found this place after getting tired of the noise downtown. This bungalows are an oasis from the party scene. Set next to the river with amazing mountain scenes. The staff was very nice but had little English. We did manage to haggle the price from 300,000 kip to 200,000 kip.
The bungalow was clean except for the fridge. The power is cut every time you remove the key from the room so the fridge is useless. We recommend this place if you are looking for tranquility yet a bridge away from the center.

Good price Great view!

We were expecting much more for the price. The staff were very unfriendly, we didn't feel welcome. The blanket was disgustingly dirty and unwashed. Unfortunately, we were tempted to stay here by the excellent location. We had booked two nights and traveled after one. Oh, the noise level was almost unbearable! Never again!

Very unfriendly and dirty

In a large garden full of butterflies with a few cows free, there are bungalows with warm water. Clean, bed-moisturizers, suitable size. The bungalows are located by the river, quiet and pleasant, two steps from the street / restaurants / pubs. The evening bar is a 10-minute walk away so no noise nuisance. Super stay.

 We stayed two nights here and we had enough. We meant to be five nights but the 2nd night our lao neighbour decided to party all night long (loud and drunk) when we checked-in the non speaking english girl at the front desk assured me that it wont be any noise at all. We left a jersey in the room but they said the knew nothing....so bad bad staff,the only food thing is location but u can find same same and cheaper and more helpful staff.

Terrible staff and overprice.

We stayed here in February and wouldn't stay again. The room, for 150,000 kip, was nice and clean, while basic, and there was an extra mattress which we didn't need (a double bed and single). After checking in we tried the wifi and it didn't work. As the staff didn't speak English this could not be communicated and eventually the staff member called the owner. I told the owner the wifi didn't work and the owner said it didn't work in the room, however we were trying to use it in the common area and I told her that. She then proceeded to hang up on me. We tried again later and it didn't work the rest of the evening our first night. After taking a shower in the bungalow, an army of ants (there must have been a hive underneath) came out and our bathroom was covered by thousands of ants. We did our best to wash them away with the shower hose but they kept coming. We informed the staff and someone came and Raid-ed the bathroom for 20 minutes and the problem was resolved, although little English was spoken and no apology or anything was given. The next morning the advertised banana and coffee included weren't brought out when we sat in the restaurant, we had to ask, and were given coffee (begrudgingly) and told the banana was for the premium bungalows customers only, what a joke. We left and found a much nicer room across the river with great view, good service and cheaper price (100,000 kip at Domon Guesthouse). The Banana Bungalows next door also have nicer service and comparable bungalows for 80,000 kip.

Nice views, but over-priced and underserviced

We stayed at this resort for four nights. It's no better. The bungalow is clean, well maintained and up to date. Generous room division and, in our case, a terrace in front and a back overlooking the Karst Mountains. The boss and her crew are very friendly and helpful.
