We checked in here for four days. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we could only take a cold shower and had to ask for towels all the time. The hotel is 1 minute from the Mekong. Also, the hotel offers various rides, such as to the Kuang Si Waterfall or to or to Vang Vieng. You can choose one from six different breakfast restaurants every day. Check in at the Mekong Moon In boutiques, right across the street. There is a morning market.

Pleasant hotel

The room was reasonably sized and had everything you'd require - hot water kettle, hair dryer, refridgerator, TV, decent sized table/desk, bedside tables, clothes hanging space, balcony AND A CLEAN, FUNCTIONAL BATHROOM.

Earlier we stayed in another hotel by the river but it suffered the all too common problem of Asian hotels with poor drainage and a smelly bathroom.

The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent.

Location is perfect - between the popular river side walk with umpteen restaurants, massage places, ATMs, motor scooter or bicycle hire places and the night market.

Despite being here it's relatively quiet.

Cheaper tours to the waterfalls are available at the restaurant. No formalities at all, just slip the guy your fare and that's it. Much less than everyone else is asking.

I lost my phone in a taxi from the airport. The hotel manager was quick to help me get a tuk tuk for a reduced price, so I returned to the airport and (can you believe it?) found the same taxi and my phone! Fantastic.

Needless to say, if you hire a motor scooter from anywhere along the river front, expect to pay more. Good ones are available for 60,000 kip if you go anywhere else.

A most pleasant stay in a well appointed budget hotel 50m from the river

If you go through Booking you have the price in local currency to avoid being scammed. Besides, the manager was aggressive and disrespectful when he was told that we would pay for the booking price.

What to Avoid

Was put here as a replacement for my double booked hotel.
Run down and dirty feel to room. Pictures are not necessarily the room u'll be in. 
A view thru my window of a wall so no natural light.
No safe which was inconvenient.
Aircon +fan didn't function properly.
A kettle but no tea/coffee. 
Horribly dirty shower and blocked drains. 
Dirty/broken switches. 
Absolutely no attention to detail and a lazy attitude to room maintenance and cleanliness.



Totally unimpressed 

I stayed here for 3 nights. A very nice colonial type of woody-building. very close to everything i.e Mekong River, morning market, night market, money changer, tourist attraction etc. They serve breakfast.

Nice and cozy place to stay in the heart of Luang Prabang.

They cancel the hotel two days before arrival, fortunately there is plenty of hotel offerings in Luam prabang but I do not recommend staying here in high season unless they want to arrive and find that they have no reservation as it was canceled by the accommodation.

Mal hotel

Good stay. The hosts were nice and helpful. It was raining during our stay and they provided free umbrellas. They also provide free bike to ride around town. The only negative thing was that there were a quite a few flying insects in our room. It would have been nice if they provided insect repellent inscence or electronic pest repellant in the rooms.

The room was clean, sheets and towels changed every day. The bathroom was also very nice with warm water. The breakfast included was very good. We also used this hotel to do our laundry, the staff are very hospitable and helpful, we had a very good stay!

Comfortable hotel in the centre of Luang Prabang

We were looking for a hotel in Luang Prabang with a room for 4, 1 double bed and 2 single beds, and the choice was very limited! We opted for this small hotel for 4 nights and it perfectly met our expectations. The big plus: exceptionally comfortable bunk bed and ideal location, quiet while being 2 feet from the Mekong, the entrance to the morning and evening markets, right next to a pagoda where we heard the gong early in the morning to announce the tak bat. Charming and caring home to satisfy us. Lunch.

Very good price ratio

For the location and the price ($20/night) it was a really good find. It was right next to the night market and close to the Mekong River. While the rooms weren't the most fancy or highest quality, they were very clean and well kept. A nice breakfast was included with a menu of approximately 10 things to choose from with fresh fruit and juices also provided. What made this modest hotel receive a 5 star rating from me was the service. There was a very sweet young lady who was always at the desk available to answer any questions or provide anything needed. They also booked us a bus ticket and provided a ride to the terminal. If I ever return to Luang Proban, I will definitely go back to this hotel. p.s the pics provided were after we stayed in the rooms, which is why the bed is a little messy.
