3667 reviewsI booked a standard room as a gold member. Before check in I was upgraded to an Ocean dream room. Nothing significant but a category upgrade is an upgrade. Between upgrade and check in I also went up to platinum! It was great to see that this hotel features a separate check in lounge for Platinum and above members. The hotel lobby and halls are pretty well-kept however you can tell by the rooms that the building is a bit on the older side. That said, the room was still nice and spacious by Tokyo standards with a balcony you can walk out onto with a view. From my room you could clearly see Disney Sea. The hotel itself is quite huge and the public areas are really nice. The main building has multiple restaurants on the first and second floors. The current main picture features the park area between the hotel and Tokyo Bay. There is also an annex building with various amenities such as a public bath, children’s play area, arcade, and coin laundry. I recall the washers were about 400 yen without detergent and 500 with detergent. There were dryers too however I am familiar with these type of dryers as not as powerful as those in the U.S. so I just hung up my laundry in my room. The public bath features hot bath, cold bath, and sauna and is normally not free however Platinum and above members can choose one free daily access as one of their benefit choices on check in which was appreciated. I recall that the other possible choices were free parking, one free hour at the children’s play area, and 30% off dining. At time of writing, Platinum members get two choices, Titanium three, and Ambassadors receive all four. For those such as myself who do not drive and have no children, you effectively only have the two options of the bath and restaurant discount which are, in my case, the most desirable anyway. I checked out the Sheraton Club on the top floor which was really spacious and had a good array of food and beverage options for evening cocktail service. I also sampled breakfast which follows the typical theme of marginally less options in exchange for a quieter, more intimate experience and little to no wait. When I was still gold level this hotel also offered access to the club lounge during cocktail hours as a possible benefit choice which is very generous. I checked out breakfast service in Toastina on the second floor as well as the Galleria Cafe on the first floor. My experience was that Toastina was largely the same as the club lounge breakfast and if you have access to the lounge you may as well just go there. The Galleria Cafe was the more typical “main” breakfast area that sometimes had a long wait however it did offer substantially more food options and is a good alternative to the other places if looking for a full breakfast. The hotel is located close to the Bayside Station of the Disney Resort Line which is where most of the resorts are in Maihama. There is also a free shuttle to Maihama Station from where you can take the Keiyo Line to Tokyo Station. I suggest leveraging the free shuttle when possible. The Disney Resort Line is also fine after the shuttle stops service for the day. Try not to stay out too late as once the Disney Resort Line stops running, you either have to take a taxi or are in for a long 30 minute walk. I remain of the opinion that Chiba (this Tokyo Disney area) is a bit too far for my taste if one is commuting daily to central Tokyo. The said, there is a good chance of getting a good price on a really nice hotel with many amenities such as this one versus paying more for less in exchange for no commute in central Tokyo. I must leave that decision to the reader, however if going to Tokyo Disneyland then really there is no better location than this area. I, admittedly, underestimated how much I would enjoy staying at this hotel. I’ve always been lukewarm on staying in Chiba and commuting to Tokyo. However, considering the spacious facilities, generous benefits, good service, and reasonable price I’m more open to returning in the future.
