Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa

I had another great 3-night stay in a superior king room in mid-November 2024. As before, the room was comfortable and spacious, with a beautiful Futamata washi collage above the bed, as well as a washi paper blind. There was a safe, a fridge, a humidifier and an iron/ironing board. The wi-fi was good. Ample storage space and a decent-sized bathroom. I had a view of the street below and some other buildings beyond. The breakfast here is something to look forward to! A wide variety of delicious food with lovely dishes to eat from. The staff, I think one young woman particularly, went above and beyond to help me find and visit a medical practice where some English was spoken. I'd had an accident in Morioka and had to have stitches in my chin, and they needed to be removed a week later in Kanazawa. I'd contacted the hotel beforehand for assistance and upon arrival was given the practice details and a printout of a map, along with detailed bus info. I decided to walk as it wasn't that far, and when I arrived I found the hotel staff had rung ahead so I was expected. I didn't have to wait long (there were no appointments so I'd been worried about losing sightseeing time). The doctor didn't speak much English (and I don't speak much Japanese) but they had another medical practice staff member on hand to translate. Everything went well, and when I was next at the hotel the young woman mentioned checked with me as to how it had worked out. It was really good, and much appreciated thank you! The hotel is within walking distance of the castle, Kenrokuen, the Nagamachi Buke Yashiki district, various museums and galleries, and shopping and entertainment hubs Korinbo and Katamachi. It's further but you can also walk to Higashi Chaya-Mai and the JR Station, or the loop and other bus stops are close by. Looking forward to staying again in future!
