The hotel located at Lake Shoji. 15 km from Fujikawaguchiko. It's in peaceful area far from thhe city. It's convenience access by car. Bus is not frequently.
This is very good location to see mount Fuji with Lake Shoji from the room or onsen.

Staff is very helpful, kind and polite.

Japanese Room is large, clean, comfortable with living area and has a great view of mountain Fuji. Green tea and Fuji cookies are provided. Mini fridge is equipped as well. Bathroom has shower and bathtub with shampoo, shower gel.

The hotel provided public onsen on the ground floor. Both indoor and opened air. 2 rooms of private onsen are provided on the 4th floor. You can enjoy Fuji view during soaking onsen. Reservation is required with 30 mins slot.

Dinner set menu is very good. It's Japanese traditional style including Sashimi, roasted beef, Tempura and a lot of side dished. It's delicious.

Breakfast is Japanese set menu as well. Fuji view from the restaurant is lovely.

Recommend for all type of traveller.

Great Fuji view with private onsen

Tips for Fuji best view: check weather if it will be sunny and in my case the the Fuji was shown without any cloud at 6am when sunrise!! 
we booked japanese style room with breakfast and dinner. The checkin was easy and staffs were friendly. The room was very nice, spacious and amazing (it might be old for some, but not really for me and i like that feels to be able to experience normal japanese ryokan). They have private bathroom and toilet in the room. The public bathroom and onsen were nice! I book an 8am private onsen sadly the Fuji top were covered  by cloud and sun a lil bit blinding.
Breakfast and dinner were good! We have fun stayed there, gazing at the beautiful fuji and experience excellent stay. This  hotel is for you if you want a relaxed vacation. The hotel can be reached by omni bus blue line but its very rare. In my experience touring aroung fuji using omni busses, they are not on time so sometimes you can wait 15min-1 hour for blue bus to pass depend on traffic, weather etc.

Nice view and nice hotel!

What a place. Beautiful views, tranquil environment and above all, the service was just out of this World!!! They couldn't do enough for you. 

We wanted somewhere for exploring between the rugby games and Mt Fuji was on the list. 

Arriving late, one of the owners phoned a restaurant round the corner that had shut and drove us there himself...he also picked us up and drove us o the nearby forest.

We visited Yamadaya Hotel between the 22nd and 25th of April 2019. I had stupidly forgotten to make note of the fact that their check in strictly speaking closes before 8pm, but we were not due to arrive there until 8:30. After calling them, they assured us that was fine, and without us asking, held dinner for us, even though this meant us being served 2 hours after their normal dinner schedule. This quiet, unspoken, but excellent service was the norm during our stay: they would quietly notice things, such as the fact that my yukata (a type of Japanese dressing gown) was a bit too long, and next day they'd replaced it without comment with a better fitting one. 

The food here blew me away. I knew it was going to be traditional, but I was unprepared for what this meant: the sheer variety of dishes placed before us was staggering, both for breakfast and dinner. The flavours were numerous, delicious and sometimes curious. Note that if you don't like seafood and pickles, you will struggle here! But we loved it.

The room is big and elegant, with an ensuite bathroom. Big windows with a view over the lake and Mt Fuji itself. The hotel itself has seen some wear and tear in places, but not in any essential ways, and this did not detract in any way from our experience: it appears to be run by a family, so they no doubt have their hands full keeping the place running.

The location (besides the food and onsen experience) is the main draw here of course. Kawaguchiko itself can be quite touristy, but this place was remote enough to be superbly quiet and peaceful. Great hiking trails start right outside, which take you to various peaks where you can view Fuji and absorb the smells of the trees in the forest. It does get cloudy here too though, so do try to time your trip with the weather or you may not catch even a glimpse of Fuji. 

Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and can highly recommend Yamadaya. Particularly romantic place for couples, at least for us! The only thing to be wary of here is that the local buses seem to be 15 minutes delayed as a matter of rule. This very nearly made us miss our coach back to Tokyo, so keep this in mind.

Excellent traditional ryokan with amazing views of Fuji

Nice traditional ryokan. Room is big and clean. Breakfast & dinner are delicious and nicely decorated. The staff can speak good english, friendly & helpful. Onsen and our room is facing Mount Fuji & Shoji lake. Great view!

Comfortable stay

I enjoyed staying at Yamada Hotel on a recent trip to the Mt Fuji area. The host is friendly and easy to deal with who is able to communicate in English. 

We stayed in a room facing the lake with its own open air onsen. The dinner and breakfast are great, serving fresh seafood and good quality beef. 

I like the quiet location in a small pocket of the Fuji area, away from the crowds and the noise. We drove here so it was easy to find using a GPS and the hotel provides free parking right next to the front door. 

Overall, an enjoyable stay. 

Amazing , awat from crowds 

Unique experiences as you get to enjoy the private onsen, traditional dining kaiseki style and tatami room with futons. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who can speak English hence there was no issue with communication at all.  Upon check in, you can reserve a 30min private onsen(included in the stay) which has stunning view of Mount Fuji as you soak in the onsen. The tatami style room is spacious with breath taking view of Mount Fuji & Lake Shoji as well. Tea set with biscuits in the shape of mount Fuji was prepared in the room. Dinner and breakfast looked simply beautiful and taste amazingly delicious. Yukata were provided in the room. Staffs are friendly and helpful throughout our stay. 
Unfortunately, the location of the hotel is far from Kawaguchiko station. Do check in advance the timetable of the local bus as the bus service to Lake Shoji area is not so frequent. 
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and would stay here again.

Unforgettable experience

Booked a full Japanese room with meals for 1 night. Before arriving to Japan, we are facing a lot of problems planning our trip due to some attractions needs to purchase advantage tickets. Hence i was trying my luck to ask the hotel to help purchase the tickets and without any doubts they helped us to buy the tickets and pay them when we arrive at the hotel.

As for the experience, it was superb. Still managed to catch sakura bloomed right in front of the hotel. Private onsen with superb view of the Mt. Fuji and Japanese styled dinner and breakfast. Our japanese styled room is directly facing the Mt. Fuji view and lake and the lake is filled with sakura flowers. Truly a great way to experience Japanese culture.

Although its far from kawaguchiko station its just 30mins bus ride and it stops right in front of the hotel.
