Not quite sure where other people reviewing this place stayed but for the princely sum of 60$.

I have no fan, no a/c, not fridge, no Wi-Fi, no option of food and no option to pay more and get more.

One interaction with one person who disappeared as quickly as he dispatched me to the room.

Quite happy to discuss my arrangements and prices if anyone cares to hang around long enough to ask me.

After a little attack of biters I have sprayed myself with bug spray in the hope that I might survive the night.

Zero hospitality.

The equivalent cost in Jamaican was 52$ but I only had 60$ usd and the answer was “we don’t give change”

Simply put we feed off idiots that don’t pre book.

And in that regard they are right do not hit the road in Jamaica and think that you might just find something along the way - you will pay for that mistake.

A back packers Hostle would have been more comfortable and cost less.

Needing to spend a couple of nights in beautiful Portland, we called ahead that morning to the Ackee Tree to see if they had any room, which they said they did. We arrived as a party of friends to be greeted by the owner, she was friendly enough.  That is where the good part of the review ends.  The owner, having greeted us clearly wearing no underwear under her very clingy dress, proceeded to overtly and consistently flirt with the male members of the party. Not great! 
Having showed us to our rooms, she insisted that all of us remove our shoes in the reception area so that they did not have to clean through the building!  Are we paying for a room, or staying with a friend?!!  To add insult to injury we were told not to sleep with the cushions on the bed. Unbelievable!
Unfortunately for us, we were informed of a family emergency later that day and so contacted the host to say that we would have to leave.  As we hadn't actually unpacked or done anything in the room we offered to pay for that night (for all three rooms) due to the inconvenience but asked for a refund for the second night.  They refused to refund anything at all saying that they had no refund policy.  They didn't even ask what was wrong - just that they were not prepared to give us any money back!  A very expensive lesson in where not to stay in Portland!

Take your shoes off! Don't lean on the pillows! No refund policy!

Oh my word , I must say staying at Ackee tree Villa was my best romantic get away with my fiancé. The villa is so clean and well kept. Clean sheets , curtains the entire house is beautiful . Sherol our host took extremely good care of us. I loved every minute of it. I had so much fun I am in constant awe of how beautiful Portland is. Thanks again Sherol for a beautiful time.

Ackee Tree Villa the bestest!!!!

My stay at the Ackee Tree sea view villa was a weekend well spent. If I was asked to describe my weekend there with one word, that word would be "awesome". Sherol the hostess let me feel at home just by her heart-warming smile. Her house has several rooms for guests, its clean comfortable safe and peaceful. Every morning Sherol her mom Norma and Peter prepared really delicious Jamaican breakfast (Ackee and salt fish, curried chicken amongst others). Thanks to their hospitality and very helpful advices. Sherol and Peter are very amusing....great people to be around. Another big thanks to Sherol for the introduction to Ella the beauty therapist...facial was great. If you are looking for the most authentic Jamaican experience, away from crowded hotels, go to Sherol's place. Satisfaction is guaranteed at this aesthetic villa with a breathtaking view! Can't wait to go back there.

Awesome weekend at Ackee tree villa

Ackee tree has an amazing view and it's close to everything: supermarket, beaches, blue lagoon, route taxis, and it felt like a safe area too. Sherol was a great host and loved her breakfasts with the amazing view of the bay! Thank you so much for making our stay comfortable!

We stayed 2 weeks at Ackee Tree sea view villa with friends so we were the only guests. Sherol the hostess greeted us with some local beer and heart-warming smile.  Her house has several rooms for guests, ours was the one toward the sea,  spacious, clean and comfy, with our private bathroom. Every morning Sherol and her mom Norma cooked us a delicious Jamaican breakfast  (Ackee and salt fish,  rundown amongst others). Thank to their hospitality and very helpful advices we felt like home (but with a better view) and spent one of our most amazing holidays. If you are looking for the most authentic Jamaican experience, away from crowded touristy hotels, go to Sherol's place, a jewel nested in the rain forest surrounded by acketrees with a breathtaking view!
