I was careening around Umbria with my 80 year old parents and decided to zoom up to Urbino for the obvious reasons, art related, and chanced upon this gem: the decor is over the top spectacular, each room a special den of some fantastical imagination, the entire setting ultimately magical. Our host, the owner, was beyond kind, and welcoming, and the breakfast was over the top delicious. A must if you are visiting urbino.

a nice host and a beautifull and friendly stay at villa barocco. We had a great time and a beautifull rooom (almost an appertment). A nice setting with a special relaxing atmosphere. Great choice for a rest in the Marche

relaxing at a special place and style

We (along with our 3 young daughters – 10, 12, 13) booked to stay for 3 nights. We were told to leave after 1 for being too noisy in the pool.
 
My frustration is not the enforcement of a strict noise policy. But despite knowing the exact age of our children (from our very first enquiry) it was not until we arrived that we informed of the policy. Yes the website talks of ‘tranquility’ but that could mean a host of different things. 
 
So, at 5pm on the first day I was given an ultimatum. There had been a complaint, so please keep the noise down or leave immediately. Keeping the children so quiet would have been impossible so I opted to leave. So we found ourselves in high season and without accommodation for the night!
 
Fortunately we were able to find a beautiful hill top hotel which genuinely welcomed our children and we enjoyed the genuine Italian hospitality offered.

children should be seen but not heard!

This is not your normal hunting lodge experience where decoration is often soft terracotta hues reflecting the style and ambience of this region. It is a full on explosion of vibrant colours and décor reflecting the Baroque style of Venice. For us it was an exhilarating experience that added to our stay.

The House is complimented by the excellent pool area which has enough space to accommodate more than double the number of clients.

Overall the bedrooms have very good facilities and the beds are comfortable all enhanced by the tranquillity of this location.

Yes the country lane leading to the property is challenging but not so different from many other B and B's in Italy.

The breakfast was more than adequate with a good variety of items for all tastes. During our stay Thierry provided advice and restaurant recommendations that more than surpassed our expectations.

Our stay was absolutely delightful and if you are open minded traveller I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Barocco as a unique place to stay.

Something Different

we stay at this place in the summer. the villa is nice and the breakfast good. for us the stay was not good as all the guests must keep very quiet all of the times. otherwise you are asked that you keep quiet especially at the pool. this is not relaxing as all the time you think you will be asked to be quiet.
