Myself and my husband got married in Eccles Hotel in October 2023 and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The wedding day itself was perfect. Marie the wedding coordinator focused on every detail and specific request so it was perfect and tailored to our day! The staff throughout our stay worked so hard while also being extremely kind and friendly. 
The venue itself is so beautiful and unique with the most amazing views. On top of this, the food is outstanding! 
All of our guests travelled a long distance so they were delighted when they arrived at such a beautiful place where they enjoyed the hotel, food, spa, and Glengarriff itself.  I am so looking forward to my next visit to Eccles Hotel soon! 

Our wedding weekend in Eccles Hotel 

We had our wedding at the Eccles and honestly had the most relaxed, straightforward wedding planning experience and an absolutely perfect wedding day. Marie Dooley, the wedding coordinator is a pro at what she does. She never put us under pressure or made us feel stressed. She was always in hand to answer questions or give advice. She had everything organised to a tee and had some lovely small touches for the two of us on the sat, which were really sweet and very appreciated. The staff were so friendly and professional and the food was the best that many of our guests had had at a wedding in a long time, if not ever. The food is top top quality!! I could not recommend the Eccles highly enough as a wedding venue and I could not have been more impressed with Marie and all the staff. Keep up the great work!! 

Fantastic Wedding Venue

We got married in the Eccles Hotel the end of September 2022, we had the most beautiful day and the hotel staff could not have been more attentive and helpful on our wedding day. We had a beautiful day and the guests all thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially the views from the hotel and the amazing food. We were fortunate enough to try out the outdoor spa during our stay last year as well. Highly recommend trying out the spa if you have the time. 

We went back this year for our 1 year anniversary. The service we got from check in, right down to the meal was out of this world, everyone working in the hotel is very attentive and personable. 

We highly recommend the Eccles as a wedding venue, the location is beautiful and the staff can't do enough for you, not to mention the food. 

Wedding/Anniversary Review

We had our wedding reception at the Eccles Hotel and Spa in September and a drinks/food reception the following day. We had an absolutely fantastic weekend!

Our guests had a great time at the drinks reception, especially enjoying the cocktails. All the food we ate during our stay was fantastic, especially the wedding dinner. Our gluten-free and vegan guests were stunned at how well catered for they were. The main reception room was just beautiful with candles on all the tables and the stunning bay view in the background! The bridal suite was very comfortable with plenty of space to get ready on your wedding day. The hotel has so much character in every room, giving it a homely feel! It was raining on our wedding day and the fires in the reception were lit, adding a lovely atmosphere as guests arrived. 

The staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. We would like to say a special thank you to Michael and Marie who went above and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding day and felt relaxed enjoying every moment knowing the fabulous staff had every detail handled. 

Our only regret was not getting a chance to try out the spa! Would highly recommend the Eccles for a wedding venue or relaxing weekend break.

September Wedding

A storage room for over 200 euros a night. A dark, narrow hole that's offered here as a room. Every chicken in the cage has more room. In the bathroom you can stand in the room and touch all four walls.

Chic, but ultimately, absolute waste.

What a wonderful stay we had at Eccles Hotel. From our warm welcome on check in to the sun shining on the bay upon departure it was a truly magical experience. This old lady has been brought into the future gracefully, allowing the old and the new to meet with friendship. The newly refurbished rooms are quaint but quirky.... And then we have the food. Sublimely created dishes, carefully thought out with locally sourced ingredients and seasonality in mind. The menu is intriguing yet not complicated. The dining room candlelight twinkling over the waterfront. A truly memorable experience, one I hope to relive in the near future.

A Visit Is A Must To This Gem.

The hotel welcomes you in a setting that is still in its juice with a decoration reminiscent of its great hours, it dates back to 1745! The rooms overlooking the bay although a little expensive offer a nice panorama when the time is right! The chef of the restaurant offers a tasting menu of seven remarkable meals, I highly recommend it! To conclude the stay, breakfast on the veranda facing the bay! A very pleasant stop

The comment concerns only the fact that the restaurant L'accueil is smiling, the terrace has a magnificent view, but a huge doubt about the St. Pierre pavement: never seen such a thick pavement with a meat structure resembling cabillaud and a very distant taste of St. Pierre. The waiter confirmed that it was a good one: I'm still not convinced. At 38€, I found the dish pretentious and lacking lobster, the cooking too big, and so is the mango dessert, presented, but the gelatin or the present agar, the delicious one.

When we arrived in the lobby, there was an unpleasant smell of fish; the greeting was very friendly, and we were sent to our room by elevator to the third floor; when we arrived on the third floor we had to go out and down several stairs as we were being accommodated in the cultivation of the cultivation; finally we were almost flat again and stood in front of our room, and then the shock: a very small, very dark hole; despite the sunlight in the room; every prison cell is very light; double rooms are booked but only one bed, too small for two ships. It was frustrating for over 200 euros per night so that you could get offered. In the bathroom (no one) we could not get back to the bathroom, but we could not get out of the bathroom at the same time and also use the shower, which means that in the hotel, despite the sunlight, we could hardly get back to the room; of course, we could not get back to the hotel, and if we were in the lobby, we would have had a little more trouble, and, of course, we could not get back to the hotel,

It's better somewhere else, in the tent or in the car, just not in this hotel.

The room is eloquently styled and in fact spectacular. The downside - very over priced at €500 with no swimming pool only 2 Jacuzzis, sauna, seaweed baths (payment) and Voya spa. 

For the price of the room there is no welcome card as in the style of The Hayfield Manor signed by the manager, box of chocolates or even a complimentary bottle of wine or prosecco/champagne.

 Come on Eccles Hotel if you are charging this price surely you could give the guest a complimentary bottle of something? The balcony needs some attention, maybe some outdoor lighting or something and remove the artifical plants from the balcony. Everything else, spectacular apart from the welcome aspect of complimentary.  Muckross Hotel give two bottles either alcohol or zero alcohol with chocolates plus a plate saying welcome in chocolate. Small details count.
