We felt quite at home here ;) This was a superb choice.

Desota House was just perfect for us. We stayed in room #3 which was off to the parking lot behind the house so it was quiet and we did not have to climb any stairs, which we were grateful for. We could not hear any traffic from the street. The room and bathroom were very nice. We loved that they had transformed old sewing machine tables into normal tables for two people, both in our room and in the breakfast room.

At breakfast, they had a buffet and you could additionally choose one item off of a menu. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were extraordinary. We like to think that it was Connemara salmon because of the close distance. The porridge with fruit was an absolute killer too. It was obvious that there was a lot of thought and care in delivering a personal, special experience to all of their guests. The walking distance to the city centre is approximately 20-25 minutes. You can walk to an Aldi too, but that's about 1 kilometre away. There is a sea food restaurant close by, Hooked, that we frequented twice and ate the best haddock and monkfish there. Highly recommended. Would go back anytime even though it was packed at all times.

It was clear to us that the owners and staff run Desota House with much pride, love and enthusiasm. They were the very definition of Irish hospitality. We would like to come back one day.

Great breakfast and you get a choice of salmon and eggs or irish breakfast etc.Room very clean owner very friendly. There is parking .Bathroom is separate off the bedroom
 .Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Within walking distance of hop on hop off and also 5 min walk to great pubs 

Holiday

Ideal for walking into Galway but quiet enough to have a relaxing holiday too. We chose this hotel due to the private car park, price and location. The breakfast was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Galway.

Perfect location

Me and my teenage daughter stayed a few days at Easter.  Very nice B&B a short, easy walk away from the main tourist area.  The room was large, clean, and comfortable.  The host was very friendly and helpful.  Would stay there again the next time we are in Galway.

Nice B&B, Great location

Room was fabulous and clean. Great size bed and clean bathroom. Breakfast was brilliant, huge portions and would go back for it alone!!

Location was ideal, walking distance from all the sights. Staff extraordinarily friendly - I recommend highly and hope to be back!

Loved it!

We stayed in Desota house for a shopping break and it exceeded our expectations. It was in a great location, the host was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the entire house was immaculate. The room was massive and bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend for couples or even small families.

Great B&B, highly recommended!

What I will remember most is the wonderful manager of Desota House who greated me and checked me in, answering all questions cheerfully and efficiently,  I  was really lucky to snag 3 glorious nights at the Desota B&B in a groundfloor room off the front parlor. This location was within a short 3 block walk to one of the BEST seafood restuarants and it was close to Cranes Pub for the nightly sessions I wanted to get to. The Free onsite parking for my rental car in the back made sightseeing by foot or by car very convenient.  It had such a phenominal breakfast that I could load up on breakfast and skip lunch as I took tours that picked me up at Desota House door directly for a day in the Aaron Islands and seeing the Cliffs of Mohr. But the friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and fabulous breakfast choices cooked to order were not to be surpassed. Also, the price was very reasonable and I had a great bargain in my estimation for having such a perfect convenient location to everything that was important to me to see and do in my 4 days in Galway and the surrounding sights.

Very nice B&B, exceptional staff who went out of their way to look after any detail. Very clean, great breakfast, close to downtown (10 minute walk) as well as other walks along the river and canals. Room was quite spartan but functional, there’s so much to do you only sleep there. Galway is a beautiful, clean city.

Great Location

One of the best B & B's I have visited. Quality in every department. Friendly staff, spotless clean room with very comfy bed, good quality bedding. Really has a hotel feel to it and the breakfast was quality, with lots of choice. Fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a big flat screen.

Beautiful B & B

Perfect location for walking around Galway, just a short block from the main walking/biking trail and only a few minutes to walk to food and drinks. The breakfast was plentiful and there were several options to choose from. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
