If you want a traditional evening of live Irish music played by locals, then look no further. We went to the Wednesday session, which is open to anyone to bring an instrument and join in. We sat on stools right next to the band and were there for about 3 hours! It’s very laid back, authentic, and welcoming. The singer asked where everyone was from, and remembered everything as we went through the night. It was fitting that this is the pub where The Dubliners started their career, and the bar is decorated with their pictures and posters. My dad wanted to have the full Dublin musical experience for his birthday and this place couldn’t have been any more perfect: fun (hilarious at times) and wholesome, we left for our 15 minute walk back to the Temple Bar area very happy indeed.
