Villa Belindo

We loved our stay at Villa Belindo. The hosts were amazing and we had dinner there one of the nights which was fantastic, very delicious and a very fair price for private dining in beautiful surroundings with home grown organic ingredients. Small place, only 3 rooms so you are likely to have the large (compared to other places with have stayed) pool to yourselves a lot of the time. It’s a little further from the beach and town than we realised but the hosts found us a good restaurant that picked us up and took us home and we organised a dolphin trip with taxi which allowed us to stay in Lovina town for a few hours after the dolphin trip. It was worth the extra bit of travelling to stay here. The hosts offered to arrange moped hire but we were not confident so we managed well otherwise for transport. We had pancakes (pineapple and a savoury with cheese and spring onion) for breakfast and these were absolutely delicious and came with home grown / made fruit, juice and coffee. One word of warning - at the beach lots of people try to sell you things. We were foolish and booked a trip taking us to our next stay at Pemuteran and to go snorkelling. We paid a deposit (they wanted all money up front though). We later read reviews for the company which are awful so we decided to cancel and give them no more of our money. We are normally cautious but because everyone we have met here so far has been kind and honest we let our guard down. Do NOT give anyone money before a trip and check their credibility on trip advisor before booking. They did turn up to collect us so not a con as such but reviews say it all about them - Grand Permai AVOID. We’ll be sending feedback to Lonely Planet to suggest they put something in the guide about this problem as seems quite a lot of people have bad experiences with touts at Lovina Beach
