Authentic balinese atmosphere, very cozy bungalows and stunnig view from terrases.

Beautiful food, friendly staff, nice rooms. Very pleasant place! The price is quite cheap considering the views presented.

A great place. The many recent bad reviews are surprising, they were from last year and the owners must have listened, since our bungalow was charming and spotless. Problems quickly dealt with. Nice breakfast choices. Beautiful scenic grounds and the view from our balcony was to die for. Wonderful relaxation after the Ubud hubbub. Lovely waterfall hikes right from the property. Would come back for a week if it weren’t half a world away.

Touring Bali hills

Charming bungalows, but very basic. You will encounter ants and other insects in the room. The restaurant serves some tasty Balinese dishes, but hygiene may be an issue. One of their dogs walked freely in and out the kitchen and peed in the dining area on the floor/against a chair. Friendly staff.

Charming but basic

The location and the views from the rooms (on either side of the hill) are quite lovely, and the grounds are also quite pretty. You stay in traditionally apperaing Bungalows, raised above the ground.

Our particular Bungalow was clean and comfortable. You get a good breeze and the fan is of good quality, so it stayed nice and cool. It had a wonderful balcony, which was great for reading when there was an afternoon storm. Our bathroom was clean, and the shower had good hot water whenever we wanted it.

The staff were friendly, though they didn't speak much english. The restaurant is not worth eating at, as there are better places in the town. The owner can help arrange transportation to/from the hotel, or for day trips at reasonable prices. They also provide you with a map of the nearby trails, albiet a hand drawn map that takes some "artistic license" with some of the trails (it isn't 100% accurate).

One particularly negative aspect of the property are the birds. There are a lot of them in cages all over the property. Many tropical birds that should not be locked in cages. There even appeared to be a Bali Starling in one of the cages, though it was near an "office" area that visitors don't walk by so I couldn't get close enough to confirm. It was a little upsetting to see so many of them like that.

Overall okay lower cost accomodation for the area, with some questionable ethical practices.

Great view, "okay" accomodation

Walking into Manah Liang for our 1 night stay felt like we were the 1st guests in years to wander through an abandonned hotel... The garden hadn't been cared for in a while and the bungalows looked run-down... Our specific bungalow was at the end of the property and gave view onto an unfinished building blocking the magnificent view behind it and surrounded by building materials although the site clearly wasn't currently under construction/renovation... The rooms were basic and could have been charming if not for the cobwebs and iffy electric set up, the bathrooms were very poorly maintained and barely clean; hot water was a gamble... We were informed upon arrival that the restaurant only served breakfast and upon leaving that they only accept cash... Needless to say we were less than thrilled with our stay at this hotel.... I will however say that the staff were friendly and the location excellent, offering great views (when no building in front) and a great direct path to the waterfall trecks away from the main road which was very pleasant! So this place definetly has potential but needs some serious sprucing up and regular upkeep and maintenance....

Wasted potential...

Run-down from what must have once been a very nice place. Poor maintenance and shabbiness spoils the great potential.  Mean, unimaginative breakfasts - and the final insult was rancid butter on my toast. Lovely young staff try their best, but they cannot make up poor management.

Only positive thing was a friendly staff and a good view of the mountains. Rooms were traditional bungalows, which apparently meant lots of cobwebs and ants invading everything. 20 minute hike from waterfall but that's all there is, it is a very secluded location with almost nothing in the near premises.

Dirty and in the middle of nowhere

Location great. The accommodation is tired, run down and inadequate. I paid for two nights but had to leave after the first. Booking.com have been informed as i booked through them. The rooms were small, unclean with ants in the room and around the cup and bathroom.
