Booked it on go ibibo for 300 rupees for a non AC room. Since it's cold ,so no need of a fan or air conditioning. Rooms are good size and neat and clean . Only issue hot water not available. Staff is co operative 

Nice for a budget stay

I had a bad feeling from the moment we arrived but decided to ignore that because of it's location. The guy who was operating the reception failed to acknowledge me, staying in his phone and when he finished his phone call still didn't acknowledge me. Another younger guy came in and I asked him about my booking but he didn't understand. I asked the first guy and he didnt give me a clear answer about whether there was a room available for us (we had booked on booking.com) I asked many times, do you have a room and he eventually nodded by I wasn't certain. He finally got some keys and after showing him the booking reference he took me to a room. It seemed OK for what we were paying so I agreed to it. The price was 1000 rupees for two nights and he said, but you give me 1050. We said that we would pay once he returned our passports. He told my friend this would take 20 minutes however I saw him go to a higher floor and then to another room to do other things. I asked him if he could please photocopy our passports so we could leave the hotel to do other things. He just nodded but gave no indication that he would comply. We informed him that we would give him our passports later as he wasn't making it a priority, he then directed us to go to the photocopy shop ourselves and get copies. We said that it wasn't our responsibility to do that and we would give our passports later. He then informed us that we couldn't take the room key with us. It didn't feel safe to leave it at the hotel so we took the keys against his wishes.

When we returned, we handed over our passports and he then said that we had a deluxe room and the price was 1800. I reminded him that I had shown him the booking, this was the room he had shown us and that he had asked us to pay 1050. He showed us a smaller room and said that this was the room we could have. Out of principle I said we wouldn't stay because I didn't trust this guy to move the goal posts. We spoke to the manager who said it was fine to stay in the room we were in but by then the first guy told us we would have to pay 500 rupees for leaving our bags in the room he had given to us (nothing touched in the room just bags on the floor). He then refused to give us our passports.
We were able to obtain our passports from the manager and left at 7pm. There was no apology.
It was a blessing in disguise, we moved around the corner to something much nicer!!

No star rating, did not even stay.

This hotel is on the road and near shiv murti chawk. So, the benefit was easy to notice. Parking facility was not proper, it was on road parking. Bedsheet was not cleaned, asked a staff to change it, but I didnt get one.

The night we spent in Hotel golden was the worst we had in a month in india so far :

- At our arrival, after 14 hours of train, 5 men were sitting in the lobby on their phones which is usually what you can find in any hotel, but in this case one of them stood up to "welcome" us and start the check in without a "hello" "good evening" or anything that would ressemble a proper welcome, the only thing he said was "booking number", the 4 other guys stayed there comfortably installed in the sofas looking at my girlfriend like a piece of meat. The manager then came out of nowhere, didn't tell them to go away turned to us and simply said : "booking id ?".

- after all that we were acompanied to the room which was dirty, we slept in village hotel down in rajhastan for 300 RS a night that were clean so there is absolutly no excuse. the sheets were stained with grease the floor had not seen a broom in at least a week, and the bathroom was simply dirty and stained everywhere.

- 15 minutes after our installation one of the man (that we'll call robert because he never introduced himself) came into the room to take some personnal item that he left behind (yes he was working at the hotel) what that means is the room wasn't prepared or anything even though we booked it days earlier.

- The wifi is notavailable anywhere else than in the lobby downstairs or in the first set of stairs. and unfortunately you can't sit downstairs since the receptionnist friends are here hanging out as i mentionned earlier.

- We had the delightful experience of roberts opening the door at 5:30 pretending that we rang a bell which was a forgivable mistake but opening the door isn't. YOU DON'T OPEN THE DOOR YOU KNOCK FIRST.

So overall a terible experience that i would like you to avoid, there are decent hotelsin haridwar, this one isn't at all, the service might be the worst even if i'm used to bad welcomes this one deserve this review, and if you still think this hotel is worth you time check out our friend that stayed with us scratching the door all night long (you might need to zoom she's pretty shy and i barely manage to get her on camera)

to the owner of this place : you should feel ashamed of calling yourself a hotellier

Good experience with Hotel Golden. This hotel is good in terms of budget. Front desk representative behavior was also good. If I visit here again, I would like to stay in this hotel. Just here I had a problem of some amenities but everything was fine.

Worst beddings..unclean blankets with dust and foul smell

I went haridwar with my family including a 1.5 yr old baby stayed in hotel golden.we saw the room quality is very good in goibibo.com .but realty was different.very bad quality room, continuous flactuation of voltage,inhuman behavior of staff maid our trip very painfull.those who have planned to stay in hotel golden,it is my request please cheack before booking.

Very bad experience

Booked 4 BedRoom  AC room, however founded Madhumakkhi Chatta in the room and need to Adjust in 3 Room set. The size of Room is Ok but no view from room and cant see anything out of the room. I read that Har ki Pauri is in walking distance, literally Yes but its 40 mins walk only. No Wifi Facility, market is approachable. But it is budgeted hotel and staff is friendly. Just pay little extra and book hotel somewhere else in Haridwar. The best thing is Parking Facility is Available and nearby to the railway station.

Budgeted Hotel

We chose this hotel because we want to stay near Haridwar Railway station and bus stand. The AC room was exactly the same as shown in the photo. We faced no problem here. If you want to go to Kankhal, you can easily get shared auto in front of this hotel.
