Rahi motel is a government run establishment. It is located adjacent to the Haridwar railway station. 
The hotel offers large, clean rooms with basic amenities. 
The attached restaurant serves decent food at a reasonable price.
Tourist attractions such as Har-ki paudi or Manasa mandir can be visited using autos or rikshaws available from the gate.
A real value for money property.

Basic, Clean, Affordable

Excellent location with spacious rooms specially on first floor.. very easily accessible for everyone being located infront of station and adjacent to bus stand.. ample space for those who want to drive in.. a small garden. Conveyance available for har-ki-paudi and maa Mansa Devi temple.. very prompt service by the staff.. you can have  tasty food inside the hotel and nearby numerous eateries... We tried Khalsa restaurant for authentic Punjabi food.. with very reasonable price with personal touch of the owner is appreciable..
Only negatives I  can say is  location is  very crowded, though inside hotel you won't feel anything.. another weak point is no greenery view from room, surrounded by buildings..

Peace in crowd

Rahi Motel is closest to Haridwar Railway Station, it is run by Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam. An ideal parking place for people on a short religious visit to Haridwar. The Motel serves good "Garhwali Food" some thing unique and worth trying. Room on first floor are comparatively more airy. Overall a good Motel.

Budget Motel : Good Garhwali Food

We started our return journey from Rudraprayag to Haridwar via Srinagar, Devaprayag, Rishikesh 160 km which will take around 8 hours. We took lunch on the way. We reached Haridwar GMVN Rahi Motel by the side of Railway Station when evening was approaching. The hotel is centrally located on the Station Road. Harki Pauri Ghat is 2 km from this hotel by Auto. Auto takes Rs.20/- per head. We went to Harki Pauri Ghat after freshening up to watch Ganga Aaarti. We watched the Aarti from a distance which was a wonderful sight. Then we visited the temples around the Ghat and had tea over there and ate Peda and Rabri. The next day we went to visit Mansa Devi Temple by taking an auto for Rs.500/-(to and fro) to the place from where the rope way to Mnsa Devi Temple starts. It takes Rs.333/- each for taking us to Mansa Devi Temple via rope way and from there by bus to ChandiMata Temple Rope way and back. The Rope way journey was enjoyable.
On return we had lunch at  Big Ben (AC) on the Station Road. Food quality and ambience was good. At night we had dinner at Dada Boudi Hotel with pure bengali food. Next day after having breakfast at Rahi Motel, we started for New Delhi Airport to catch flight to Kolkata.
Rooms at the second floor of Rahi Motel were bigger and better than first floor. There was atttached bath with running hot and cold water. Maintenance and housekeeping needs lot of improvement. Food quality is not satisfactory. Hotel lobby is spacious but untidy with inadequate sitting arrangements.

Haridwar visit

We were at Haridwar on our way to Rishikesh and then onto Valley of Flowers. We were looking for a place near the Railway station to put up for the night. Having stayed at GNVM Hotels earlier, we decided on Rahi Motel.

The Hotel is fairly close the station, but as we had luggage with us, we were forced to take an Auto, who charged us Rs. 100 for a less than 3 minutes ride. Check in was without hassle and we were allotted rooms in the first floor.

The rooms were large and airy, but poorly maintained. The toilets need an urgent upgradation. The Air Conditioner was rather noisy and belonged to 1980's vintage. The tapestry was old and frayed. Overall, the feeling was one of a rundown hotel. Surprisingly, the service was good.

The food was quite good, thanks perhaps to the chef, though the choice was limited. We felt the Restaurant was a bit overpriced.  

To visit the ghats, you need an auto, which were available aplenty. Luckily, the auto rates are fixed and you do to have to haggle.

We had taken A/c rooms and found that only difference with the other rooms was the provision of the A/c. During our return, when we spent a few hours at Haridwar for freshening up, we booked non-A/c rooms, which were quite adequate.

The Hotel badly needs a facelift. However, the location is excellent, and we felt that the hotel is very safe; and for those reasons only we may choose the hotel again, if we need to transit through Haridwar.

Good hotel for transit through Haridwar.

It was very pleasant stay at Rahi Motel Haridwar. It is just 3 minutes away from Haridwar railway station by walk.The accommodation is very well and pleasant.All through it is very nice place to stay and also 10 min far from Har ki Pauri

Finding a hotel a WE holiday in Haridwar: not easy. So happy to find a room. Genre: tourist office hotel (well but a bit Soviet) Good sides: - hotel backwards compared to the street (1 of the noisiest in India) - all walking (climate, hot water) - breakfast included (summary) - tourist office next door hyper serviced (We booked other hotels and took tickets for the train) Bad side: - too close to the bus station (total capharnaum) - No Wifi or Internet - 0 decom. 4 stars graceful tourist office..
