OYO Premium Calangute Suites

I always find myself getting annoyed with people on TA who expect five star service/facilities/treatment without paying for it. For me (and perhaps I’m wrong) how you rate something should be relative to your financial outlay and this is a three star hotel. For anyone viewing their stay here with trepidation due to some of the negative reviews, don’t worry. Yes, the rooms are quite basic but, hello, that is what you have paid for! Closer examination will reveal comfy beds with new mattresses and mattress toppers. Also a fridge (very useful), modern and efficient air con and a spacious bathroom with a large shower. The room is cleaned and towels are changed daily. What more could you want? Breakfast is decent and consists of tea, coffee, toast and eggs cooked freshly and how you like them. It is easily upgraded at very little cost if you want more. The food is also good, we ate lunch here several times and were impressed. In fact, both my husband and I thought the dal was the best we had all holiday. The staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble for them and this includes everyone from the management and security guard to the lads who do the housekeeping. On the last day we were allowed to keep our room until 9pm at night for a modest sum of money, which made a real difference to how we spent our time. This was much appreciated and very flexible. We noticed that other guests also took advantage of this. The hotel could charge a lot more for this, they have essentially got people over a barrel, as nobody wants to vacate their room at lunchtime when the transfer back isn’t until 22.00, but they don’t! We are not in the habit of returning to the same place twice, but this is the only reason I will probably not return here. This hotel is clean, friendly and represents good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and if you have booked it, you will too.
