In a 1930s house by a river, we found our island before the tourism boom, as we love it, and the owner was very hospitable and kind, she offered us the best room because we were the only guests that night, so we had the bathroom just for us. Everything was very clean.

An old-fashioned Icelandic guesthouse like we love them

We loved our stay in this charming guest house! There are only seven rooms, and ours was very clean and comfortable. There were only two of us, but ours had a bunkbed, so it could’ve been a family room sleeping four. The bathroom was spacious and clean, even though it is a shared bathroom. There is a nice dining room and living room area for any of the guests to enjoy as well. We had breakfast there one of our two mornings, which is extremely delicious. I was disappointed that we had to pay about $18 extra, but it was good food. There were fresh eggs from the farm, meats and cheeses, bread, jam, coffee, tea, orange juice, and other things I’m forgetting. The owner was so kind and even made us sandwiches for lunch with the leftovers. All of the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, and they were in communication with this ahead of time to make sure we were set. It was a fairly reasonably priced accommodation for Iceland. We loved seeing the various farm animals roaming in the yard, including chickens, sheep, and a dog. Everyone takes their shoes off when entering the building, which adds to the cleanliness. This is a few minutes outside of Vopnafjördur and it was a bit hard to fine, but we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and seclusion. There is not too much in this region in general. We enjoyed using it as a base to visit a variety of attractions around Myvatn. The Wi-Fi worked well, though I do wish the curtains kept out a bit more of the light. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

Clean and welcoming

The farm is in the middle of fields, near a river, with ducks and sheeps walking around.
Rooms are very clean and beautiful, the Owners take care for every detail. There is a comfortable dining room, two big bathrooms and in the morning for breakfast you can eat fresh eggs and bread with honey or jam. All is very tasty!
The Lady is so friendly and we have had long and interesting talking
If you are near around, we suggest to stop here for at least a night!

Great! Lovely and Peaceful place

This is a lovely little B&B set on a farm in the middle of nowhere (well, about 5km from Vopnafjordur). Very friendly owners and beautifully decorated and comfy. I couldn't figure out how to work the heating so was a little chilly. I saw the most amazing northern lights just outside as I returned from town from dinner - definitely dark enough even with the lights from the house and farm. There's a sitting area outside the bedrooms and unfortunately there were 2 Russian couples sitting out there making loads of noise, which was annoying, so I went out to look for northern lights instead (mostly cloud by then!).
Nice buffet breakfast, good wifi, good shower (no shampoo or shower gel, as usual). No dinner option, so you have to head into town. Bear in mind that the winter season here starts on 20th September, so only restaurant open in town in the evenings is the hotel. Great place to stay if you're exploring the north-east corner on a road-trip and need an overnight stop. Not massively cheap for a single traveller, but few places are in Iceland these days.

Lovely little B&B, shame about the noisy Russian guests!

This place is AMAZING! I did the road trip all around the island, and this B&B was the cleanest, nicest,  and most lovely of Iceland. It has that farm atmosphere, so peaceful, and the hosts are super kind and helpful at all the time. The breakfast with fresh eggs are amazing. highly recommended!

nicest place I've stayed in Iceland

This was a gorgeous property. Very friendly and welcoming owners. I was in town (first time to Iceland) to see my ancestry. When I couldn't find a souvenir with the town's name on it, she emailed me a recipe of what my grandmother used to make as a child, as per our conversation :) So very thoughtful. They truly went the extra mile here.

It's a stunning B&B in the utmost tranquility, the interior is beautiful, the rooms are shabby, the kitchen is beautiful and the interior is shared with the owners, friendly and available to all kinds of demands.

On our trip through Iceland we happened to come across this charming B&B. The host family is very warm and welcoming. The rooms are small but fine and cozy. Everything is very clean, well maintained and decorated with a lot of love. The family gave us the opportunity to cook our dinner in your kitchen and eat from their soup. This was super delicious and we could barely get enough of it. Dotti showed us the stable with his sheep and lambs. @Dotti please keep Life alive; she is so cute and needs you :-D The breakfast was very refreshing and delicious. We can only recommend it immediately. We would be staying in this B&B again.

Number 1 of our trip to Iceland

Our hostess Steinunn took great care of us and cooked us well for two nights. The rooms are beautiful, typically Icelandic and all have their own sink (shared bathrooms on the hallway). The living room couldn't be more comfortable, including two cats snoring. Anyone who wants can even use the sauna in the basement. We felt very comfortable here and would love to come back.

Very family friendly and typically Icelandic accommodation with warm hosts

A wonderful guesthouse lost in the eastern fjords. A very warm welcome by the housekeeper. The guesthouse is in the same building as the owners. Their living room and kitchen are therefore in common with the guests.
