Managed by the same managers of different shelters in Kjolur (see the site Gljasteinn to get an idea of what they manage), this guesthouse is more of a shelter as a concept, bathrooms and rooms built with the geometry and reason of the shelter, all very rational and clean, ample kitchen (2 stations of stoves), huge dining room with 40 seats, sofas and tv. Unfortunately we had an important incidental in bicycle and the lady who manages this guesthouse was imprecise in the information, she deluded us days before about the opening of her shelter (Glte Gislas) in Kinnurkali when then at the last minute, ready to leave, she told us to be closed questions... it was skydiving, vagabonds and showed no interest in our management, but we finally found a strongly reflective hand in the Kjolti, but we can't find a way to tell her that we had to make a good decision, so we finally decided to give her a little help in August, and we are looking for a way to make the best of our business.

I mean...

The guest house is perfectly located. Right between the Gulfoss and the geyser, but still off the road so you can have your peace. The view is wonderful - glaciers, horses and if the view is good, you can even see from the farm when the geyser has left again. The guest house belongs to the farm Myrkholt - horse lovers can also book trips here or find them at the wool market. Everything is handmade, among others by the hostess Vilborg. The accommodation is very clean, in the kitchen you can find all the utensils you need. The host is helpful and very friendly. Just to recommend!

Great accommodation between the Gulfoss and the Geysir in the Golden Circle

My husband and I spent a night here while discovering the golden circle . Fantastic rooms and kitchen and bathrooms and all very clean . Hostess was friendly and very obliging as we were the only ones staying here . Well located on golden circle route. Delightful . Highly recommend .

Fantastic !

We were pleasantly suprised at how much we loved this place. We wanted to do the golden circle in two days rather than one to give us time to take our time and not rush. We decided this hostel was a good location and it was about half way round and was close to Selfoss and Geysir. When we arrived there were no other guests there. The host arrived and showed us around and then left us to it. The place was lovely and peaceful and we had the whole place to ourselves. The dining area and kitchen were huge and well stocked and the bedrooms were clean and spacious. The price was really reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 

Great spot to break up the Golden Circle

Located very strategic near a lot of interesting sights, this hostel delivers! Spacious rooms with two double bunk beds, bathroom and toilet in the hallway, and a large kitchen/eating area. Free wifi with good signal. One of the best hostels I have seen!

Great place!

The rooms are large, there is a large kitchen equipped, the place is very clean, nice view from the rooms and the large common room, parking, animals accepted, for sleeping you either bring your sleeping bag or pay for sheets.

Calm, clean

Close to the gullfoss waterfall, the hostel presents itself unpretentious and with amenities. It is also very close to the area's famous geysers. Like the hostel it is, the toilets and showers are communal, the same as the kitchen and the large living room with the corridor tables. You should remove your shoes when entering. Remember to wear chanclas and gel/shampoo: they only facilitate you with a towel and it is not big. The rooms are for 4 people, at least where we have been (aged 3) and the beds are literate.

Hostel well ubicado

When traveling with friends, we arrived by booking, convenient to walk around the area rich in geothermal parks and more, if you have to pay to irrigate your dinner or look for a place nearby, you'll find everything, the owner will give you all kinds of guidance and suggestions, always thoughtful and careful, very clean places and perfect bathrooms, if you happen to the place, it's a guarantee.

Comfortable, clean and original

It's a breathtaking landscape that gets lost in the middle of nowhere! Halfway from geysers and gulfs so great as a support point! Farms, horses, rivers all around... not far from about 20km away there are also natural hot water pizzas! The structure is new and rich in every comfort, clean and well equipped kitchen, large common room and like all over Iceland excellent Wi-Fi

It's beautiful.

Lovely guesthouse ideally situated between Geysir and Gullfoss. It has a huge living room and well-equipped kitchen. The bathrooms are shared but clean. The views of the surrounding farmyard were amazing at both sunset and sunrise. The hosts are very friendly and helpful also. Would definitely return!
