Fairytale stay

The hotel is great for exploring the sights of the south and staying a few days longer. The rooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and invites you to cook yourself in combination with the supermarket around the corner. We were very satisfied!

Comfortable accommodation for feeling comfortable

We stayed the minimum 2 nights, in order to enjoy a Porsmork tour (which was well worth it!). We had a twin bed room, adjacent to one of the two shared kitchens in the basement. There were two shared shower rooms with toilet. 
The house looks a bit battered, but it is a working farm. Our host was very pleasant, fluent in German and English. 
The basement was clean and tidy. Our room was beneath a kids' room by the sound of it, so much banging and noise in the evening, but a peaceful night. 
You must leave your boots at the outside door, and your room unlocked during the day, both of which were slightly unnerving to a Londoner! Our milk in the communal fridge was apparently used by others while we were out. The wifi worked fine in our room, although I believe it is less reliable in other rooms.
There are supermarkets in the village at the end of the track.

Convenient, shared facilities

The guesthouse is in a really small town, it is a perfect start point for many excursions in south Iceland. Cozy house, big and tidy rooms, good wi-fi connection, there are two shared bathrooms always clean and a good kitchen. The landlady is kind and polite.

A nice and quiet place

I'm going to point out that the photographer was very good at taking pictures of the house... the house is nice, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and two common kitchens. There is wifi, but it only takes up room 1 and 2, in room 3 it goes off. The bathrooms are very wide and everything is accessory. They are provided with towels but really poorly manufactured. The guest house is in the basement, which means that everything that happens upstairs (like children's runs, piano sound, etc.) is heard in a pretty definite way.

For one night it's fine.

Located just outside Hvollsvollur, the guesthouse consists of a kind of second basement apartment of the house in which the owner lives. She is discreetly cordial, contacts you immediately after making the reservation to ask for the check-in time so she welcomes you promptly as soon as you arrive at the site. Time two chats to describe the house, to pre-arrange the payment and then we have not seen it again. The room was large enough, certainly large enough for two people and with a comfortable couple bed. The temperature throughout the house is perfect (important if, like us, in winter) and there is nothing that is missing in fact are also two kitchens and two bathrooms. In your rooms are also provided asphalt, but I must say that they were also imperfect, but it is definitely an ideal accommodation for two nights, and it does not take much to explain the fact that there is an ideal accommodation in our house.

A one-night stand

Stopped for one night here! Lovely place in the middle of a field in South Iceland! This guesthouse had everything in good shape and the beds where exceptional. This kinds of guest houses are worth to visit !

Lovely Stop

It's a small guesthouse with nice shared kitchens and bathrooms. Goods beds. Covenient location to explore the south coast. Good value for your money. The only negative is that the fridge could be cleaner and the check in time is quite late (5:00 pm), although we were able to check in earlier thanks to the au pair of the family. The owner lives with her family above the guesthouse, so you can you hear them walk, play piano but this was no problem for us, there are just normal sounds and only during daytime. Could really recommend this guesthouse!!

Great guesthouse!

We stayed at Gardsauki for two nights. The place was easy to find and the location was good, near many sights. We had a rented car. Christiane is very friendly and helpful, we got good tips for our trip. Room was spacious and clean, there were good shared bathroom and two kitchens. We have never seen so wide landscape before! There is also horses and sheep near.

Friendly and comfy place near great sights!

The cabin had two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a large dining room. TV, wifi and heating. We spent a night in the cabin, very clean, on a farm and very close to the road. Very quiet. Everything was perfect. It also has a small terrace from which to see the aurora borealis if there are no clouds.
