Our stay with our hosts Inga and Step at the Dynjandi Guesthouse has far exceeded our expectations. We have lived here wonderfully, had an unparalleled breakfast throughout the holiday and were able to make great trips from here to the vicinity of Höfn.

Highly recommended

Inga and Step are fantastic hosts. The accommodations are pristine, cozy, and the location is nothing shy of amazing with a fjord across the way and a gorgeous mountain range behind. Inga gave us a tour to the horses (+ sheep) and it is something we will never forget! There is beauty everywhere here—don’t miss it. We’ll be back!

Slice of Heaven in Iceland

We have a marvelous stay at Inga's property.
True, the place is very simple, but this is the thing! you get to feel the real Icelandic life.  Not only because of the accommodation, but mainly because Inga is something special.  She will tell you a lot about the life in Iceland or anything else that you are interested in.  Breakfast was also simple, but who needs more than that?  Special surroundings and you can get a tour in the farm with Inga.  Go there !!!

Iceland farmhouse and glacier experience

Dynjandi was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a working farm with chickens, sheep and a large herd of Icelandic horses. Our host Inga lead us through the pasture to see the horses and the "babies" that were about 5 weeks old - 4 fillies and 1 colt. Not only did she describe the workings of the farm, she also gave us  a mini seminar on Icelandic horses that was informative, interesting and funny. Inga was a delight as was everything about this guesthouse. Definitely a "must" stay.

Wonderful horse farm stay

We were there for one night but I wish we could have stayed longer and explore the farm! Very clean place, the rooms are very cozy, with tea and coffe available, also water and cookies. The breakfast was delicious, the host has the best recomendations for dinner in town! Also the  lady was a great forecaster for the Northern lights!

So charming and friendly.

It's very clean, the bed is a little narrow but the bed is very comfortable. There is tea, instant coffee and water available in the room. Unfortunately the house is quite poorly soundproofed, we could hear the sound of the wind (which was weak though). Breakfast is good. Our hostess was very hospitable and gave us a lot of advice about the area (restaurants, things to see/do, sights on the state of the roads,...)

Pleasant Housing

This is a cute farmhouse. No shoe entry, so leave in mud room. No television. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and small, but we didn't need bigger. The private bathroom is down the hall, not off the bedroom. It didn't bother us. Breakfast was offered and very good and plenty. Very nice host who helped with our driving directions the next day as we headed to the east coast. Tea available in the room with a water kettle. Ensure you bring your shampoo, as not provided. Very quiet location away from town, about 4-5 minute drive south to reach town. Room located right off of the Ring Road, so very convenient. Horses and sheep on sight. We would stay again.

Farmhouse Location

Probably the most spacious accommodation we stayed in during our tour of Iceland, but certainly alternative and nice, being a farmhouse. Minimum room, private bathroom outside the room (each of the three rooms corresponds to a different bathroom), but this was not a problem for us, adequate breakfast. The added value is certainly the courtesy and hospitality of Mrs Inga, who provided us with directions for dinner and the next day also a sheet with many useful tips to make the most of our adventure.

Something different.

This was as close as we got to getting to experience Iceland the way natives experience it.  Inga and her husband shared their experience, wisdom and their home. We were lucky enough to be there when there were baby sheep--we missed the birth of two by just an hour or so.  Their farm is a gem and they've created accommodations that are comfortable and genuine.  The morning "cake" is very yummy.  I would stay here again without hesitation.
