Holmur Farm was an excellent place to stay along the ring road near Hofn. The family who run the lodge and restaurant are extremely warm and inviting. The soup at the restaurant was the best I’ve had in Iceland. I highly recommend Holmur Farm!

Wonderful Place

This is a guesthouse in a farm. Our rooms were clean and simple. The bathrooms are shared by several rooms. The parking is very easy. The food was okay although the choice was extremely limited : there was soup and a single dessert option. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating. It's a nice place for a short stay.

Nice place for a short stay

The only reason it isn’t a 5 is that you don’t have your own bathroom or shower but, we were in the one-story in a nice room with a full window facing the mountains and fields. We were there in the summer and although the curtains weren’t “black-out” they made a difference. 
Bring earplugs for the confused chickens & roosters that can’t figure out sunrises;). This is a working farm. 
The attached restaurant Ron Tiki, provided all you can eat soup and fresh bread; lamb soup, one of the best seafood soups I’ve ever had and I can’t remember option 3. I kept going back for more seafood soup. 
Breakfast was the standard Icelandic fare of cold options.

Comfortable, Clean and great dinner next door

We were very welcome from our host. We were staying in a separate house, the room was very nice and with a nice view. The house has a small kitchen. The restaurant was closed (beginning of the season), a shame! I recommend this address!

Very good address

Stayed one night on a ring road tour. There are two buildings with rooms. One had two stories, 6 bedrooms, two bathrooms. The other is one story, but as I stayed in the two story building I am not sure of the setup. Main floor of the building had a kitchen area. No shoes in the housing buildings, though not all guests seemed to follow that.  

Room was decent sized, hairdryer provided in room. Shared bathrooms were fine, the one on the first floor had a more enclosed shower, I could see that the second floor with only a shower curtain could get wet.  On site restaurant served dinner and breakfast, and its own brewed beer (two were on tap when I was there, plus one nonalcoholic). Breakfast, which was included in the price, had the standard cold options. Depending on your room (and the weather) you can see the glacier from your window.

Nice guesthouse with restaurant and brewery

This has got to be one of my favorite guesthouses in Iceland because of the feel of the community, a sense of family, and the love and care put into the place.  Don't judge the outside of the building because once you step in, you are acquainted with stuffed animals, comfort, and a home-like atmosphere.  There is a booklet that tells you about the history of the farmhouse run by Maggi and Gunna and it even has a recipe for their pancakes.  The floors were extremely clean because of their shoes off policy.  Hand towels are provided in the bathroom and the bath towels are larger than usual.  Even the single bed was larger than usual and extremely comfortable. 
There are plenty of outlets.  A desk is provided in the room along with your own sink.  The price includes breakfast.  I would definitely stay here again.

"One of my Favorite Guesthouses in Iceland"

Amazing little guest host on the south coast. Rustic and cozy, this little farm is run by a loving family who have dedicated their lives to the property. There is a restaurant on site with great food (vegan options even!) and the family is friendly and happy to help with local activities. We really enjoyed driving up to a local mountain, hot tubs in the area and the hike out to the glacier that is the next road over. Perfect quiet place to get off the beaten path and relax. Such a wonderful special place and I would definitely recommend.

Perfect gem on the south coast

It's an old house, used bathroom, but it's full for one night. Nice lunch in a very nice restaurant.

Well, but a little old.

Very simple accommodation with a special farmhouse. Super cozy rooms (unfortunately also very bright) with very nice hosts who have their own brewery. The food is fantastic and you have a beautiful view of the glaciers.

Travel

Good location but accommodation is very basic for the price(even by Iceland standards). Food at Jon Riki was good and OK value (for Iceland). If you stayed at this accommodation anywhere other than Iceland you would be asking for a refund as the quality is not great for the price
